When happy.

Hello, guys! I'm back!!! I'm sorry for the sudden and long hiatus. I've really missed you a lot. I was just going through a phase in my life that I felt I had to finish. I won't be updating as much as before but for sure you'll hear from me at least once in a week from now on. I've decided to break up my journal into two parts so starting now, you won't be reading much of my personal stuff. I'm not going to delete my stuff from before but I'm no longer going to write personal things here. There are just some things I can't put here that others may read. I mean, I'm not talking about you, f-list. It's a bit complicated. But anyway, I'm making a new journal soon where I'm going to put my personal stuff and thoughts that you're more than welcome to add. I'm planning to make it on January 1 to signal a new start. I hope you guys haven't forgotten me, and I'm really excited to start reading from your own fantastic lives again.

Anyway, this entry is actually an icon meme. I haven't seen this one done before but I'm sure this must have been done before. I'm just really interested to see how you guys will do it. :D

RULES:
1. Post your most favorite icons in the entry.
2. These icons may or may not be yours.
3. Give credit if it is asked by the maker.
4. If you don't know the maker, put a disclaimer.
5. Copy these same rules and tag as many people as you want.

DISCLAIMER: None of these icons are mine and I don't know who made them. If you find any of yours and you want credit, you are welcome to claim them and I will credit you in this entry.

These are my most favorite icons:

I am a real icon collector. I don't really use them actually; they're mostly for eye candy and for the sake of my fandoms. [I pick them up mostly from 'forums' on different communities here on lj and I confess that sometimes I don't bother to know who made them. But I won't ever deny an iconmaker credit if he/she would want it.]

I tag: byxchance, fafi_55, mirrorintofire, thismoderngirl, bynaturebyname, elbereth_light, lizmmgood, sparklefancy, xoxkp0xox, and yosso15. Actually I want to tag as many people because I want to see your favorite icons so if you really want to, you may also do this meme. ♥

Before I leave, I have a question. Does ImageShack delete their pictures after a while? I still use Photobucket from time to time but I get annoyed when there are instances when the pictures I uploaded won't appear so recently I've been using ImageShack. Please enlighten me.

Happy holidays everybody!!!

It's Micah in my most favorite hospital on earth, Seattle Grace!

That's all I'm saying.

3rd-Nov-2007 05:50 pm - Minesweeper madness.
For funny stuff.

My semestral break is coming to an end and I'm running out of things to do. I'm really bored out of my skin but all I want is to enjoy my last few moments at home before I head back to college again.

Since Minesweeper is so easy to play [Game over? Start a new game in an instant! No sweat.] I've been playing it a lot. It's ruining my eyes but I just can't stop once I've started. I really need to find a new hobby.

I've known before that even J.K. Rowling is also a Minesweeper addict, during the days she was still typing Harry Potter. I read in her website that her fastest time then was something like 102, or 103 maybe. Anyway, at least I'm not the only one.

At the moment, my fastest time is 150. Are you a Minesweeper addict too? What's yours?

1st-Nov-2007 11:41 pm - The Tales of Beedle the Bard.
When angry.

LONDON - J.K. Rowling has completed her first book not to feature teen wizard Harry Potter an illustrated collection of magical fairy stories titled "The Tales of Beedle the Bard."

Only seven copies of the book are being printed, Rowling said Thursday. One will be auctioned next month to raise money for a children's charity, while the others have been given away as gifts.

Rowling drew the illustrations herself and provided the handwriting for the five stories that make up the collection of fairytales.

"The Tales of Beedle the Bard" is mentioned in the final Potter book, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows," as a gift left by headmaster Albus Dumbledore to Harry's friend Hermione, and provides clues that help destroy evil Lord Voldemort.

"'The Tales of Beedle the Bard' is really a distillation of the themes found in the Harry Potter books, and writing it has been the most wonderful way to say goodbye to a world I have loved and lived in for 17 years," Rowling said in a statement.

The volume, bound in brown morocco leather and mounted with silver and semiprecious stones, will be auctioned at Sotheby's on Dec. 13 with a starting price of $62,000. Proceeds will go to The Children's Voice, a charity that helps vulnerable children across Europe.

UNFAIR!!!

Why can't I have a copy? Why, why, why? It's my 18th birthday in a few minutes---it would have been the perfect gift! Huhuhu. I want it so much it hurts! I am hating the number 7 right now.

1st-Nov-2007 02:07 am - Year of a million dreams.
When happy.

Disney recently unveiled three images to celebrate Disney Parks' Year of a Million Dreams. The images were done by photographer Annie Leibovitz. Leibovitz is a notable American photographer who has taken pictures of various famous people as John Lennon, Demi Moore, and her majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The theme for her Disney shoot is international celebrities in fairy tale settings.

Here are the pictures:

Julie Andrews as the Blue Fairy in Pinocchio.

Rachel Weisz as Snow White.

Roger Federer as King Arthur.

I think Julie Andrews is a little too old for the part but she's absolutely stunning in the photo! But in what movie is King Arthur in? I'd like to watch that!

Beautiful work, Annie!

For funny stuff.

It began on Feb. 12, 2006, when viewers of the ABC series “Grey’s Anatomy” heard the character Miranda Bailey, a pregnant doctor who had gone into labor, admonish a male intern, “Stop looking at my vajayjay.”

The line sprang from an executive producer’s need to mollify standards and practices executives who wanted the script to include fewer mentions of the word vagina.

The scene, however, had the unintended effect of catapulting vajayjay (also written va-jay-jay) into mainstream speech. Fans of “Grey’s Anatomy” expressed their approval of the word on message boards and blogs.

The show’s most noted fan, Oprah Winfrey, began using it on her show, effectively legitimizing it for some 46 million American viewers each week.

“I think vajayjay is a nice word, don’t you?” she asked her audience.

Vajayjay found its way into electronic dictionaries like Urban Dictionary, Word Spy and Merriam-Webster’s Open Dictionary. It was uttered on the television series “30 Rock.” It was used on the Web site of “The Tyra Banks Show.” Jimmy Kimmel said it in a monologue. It has appeared in the Web publications Salon and the Huffington Post and on the blog Wonkette.

Wow. That's really funny. I mean, Grey's Anatomy was also responsible for bringing us the expression SERIOUSLY, among others. Even here in my country, people have been using SERIOUSLY long before I realized that they got it from Grey's. VAJAYJAY is not yet mainstream for us but I doubt that it won't be for long.

28th-Oct-2007 12:01 am - Wicker Park OST.
When nostalgic.

I haven't seen Wicker Park in a long while but I've seen it a half dozen times probably. It has a really beautiful soundtrack and this soundtrack, in particular, introduced me to Indie music. A Movie Script Ending was the first ever song I heard from Death Cab For Cutie, and since then, I have developed a relationship with their music.

My most favorite track is Strange And Beautiful by Aqualung. It's the perfect stalker song. LOL. I'm just kidding. I loved Rose Byrne's performance in this film and this song captured her character perfectly. She is the one singing and at the same time, the one longing to be the one this song is sung to.

I like the original Scientist song by Coldplay; I don't know why they put a cover in the soundtrack [although the original was used in the film] but it's not that bad. Wicker Park's ending is, by far, the most dramatic and gripping ending I've ever seen. That was a very good job by director Paul McGuigan.

Check out We All Have A Map Of The Piano by Mum and I Know You Are But What Am I by Mogwai. I hope you'll like this. It's one of my most favorite soundtracks.
