allright, so i feel its necessary for me to tell my story because if not i think it'll end to my demise. let me start off with the background info. I met amanda last year in the first month of school, she was single and so was i. we instantly became best friends, however it wasnt only best friends it was sooo much more. i had came out 3 years earlier so everyone knew i was gay, amanda became known as my "fag hag". over time we became inseperable, i love love lvoe this girl. we would spend hours talking and not get tired. we would hold hands and talk about boys and what our life was going to end up like. it was the best friendship that i had ever had. she understood me 100% and i understood her 100%. things were perfect. we were lovers ( well as close as a gay guy and a girl can get)

anyway, about a month ago we had to stay after school one day, i asked her for a ride home but she said she had to go home early because her MOM was picking her up early. during the middle of our club meeting she walks out without saying anything. i didn't have a problem with it, it was fine. but when the meeting ended and i was sittig outside the school with some friends i see her getting dropped of by this silver kia. my hear stopped. it was her new boyfriend, daniel. i was sooooo pissed. i felt so betrayed by her. i didn't care that she had gone with her boyfriend, what truly hurt was the fact that she had lied to me. in our entire friendship, we had never had a figth, an argument nor had we ever lied to each other. i felt so betrayed by her. it was horrible, worst of all, it frustrated me so much that i became angry. i wanted to curse this bitch out, this girl that called herself my "friend".

i took the mature road and instead of confronting her, i simply gave myself time to cool down and relax before doing something harsh and regretting it afterwards. but the bitch came coming up to me and trying to talk to me, she was soo immature about the whole thing. i'm sorry is it just me or does anyone else think that the grown up thing to do is to apologize and give the other person time, not constantly badger them and then turn your friends against you for not forgiving her? i'm sorry bitch, but i'm not gonna accept your apology when i'm still pissed off at you? time is the best cure, and by not giving it to me, i think i totally ruined our friendship. why the hell did she have to be so persistant? why didn't she fucking leave me alone for a fucking week and then come and talk to me, not the day after or the day after that.

as of right now, amanda and i aren't speaking. i'm still mad at her, i still feel bad because she betrayed me. i feel its my fault for relying on her 100% and never foreshadowing our end.

i guess only time will tell from now on, perhaps next year we'll talk again, but for now, i can't even see her guts anymore.

Personal Attacks instead of debates [08 Nov 2007|11:53am]

[ mood | curious ]

SO I had to read my original posting so se how it got to attacking me rather than discussing the 'real' issues I presented.  I didn't not attack the original poster at all.  I did nothing more than show an example of abusive ideology with their post of how we need to change the ideologies behind our current melting pot of experimental laws.  Sure the current law works for some.  NOT ALL. It does not take into account for those that want to stay into their marriages.  Those that want to keep their marriages become attacked with being called harrassers and irrational.  However, two people go into a marriage and only about 50% of the time both equally want out.  There is always someone being forced to do something they do not.  However, the one that gets supported are the ones that put the most anxiety on our children with treating them as material objects and forcing things upon them they have no choice in.  IF you ask most of the kids they want their parents together.  Counsellors should have more rights to work with a couple through the process before lawyers are allowed to jump into the mess and muck it all up more.  There are the worst jokes about lawyers that are true but we accept putting our families in their hands.  THAT IS WRONG.  When are we going to realize that we are cohersing someone in relationships no matter what is decided as right or wrong way to handle them.  Austrailia only has a 25% divorce rate after they revamped their system in 2004 and gave the correct resources to their people.  I did not want my personal issues to come into the debate and cloud the real issues but instead of debating the issues everyone in the singleparents community decided to personally attack me and I am sorry I got defensive but that is human nature.

Our current laws impose a perfect world ideology on a imperfect society and we wonder why there is so many fighting exes.  There is a way to correct our melting pot but we have to realize that there should be the same rights going out as going in and that is two poeple deciding together as to what that is.  Rather than just forcing one party or the other to deal with the current screwed up system that the femminists have imposed on the rest of us and expect everyone to conform.  Not to mention if you don't conform you get rights or thrown in jail when your still manipulated and told whenever your calm that they are ready to do what they should of before and when you try to protect yourself your called names like irrational or unreasonable.  TWO AGREE TO GO IN AND TWO SHOULD AGREE TO GO OUT!!! QUIT treating our families like businesses.  If we are going to do treat them as businesses then all marriages should be required to have a prenup (ilke any business contract) regardless if one party doesn't believe in them or not.  I know it won't happen again unless one is signed and gone over by 5 different lawyers to make sure it is tight.  I am tired of being vulnerable and being taken advantage of because that is just the way it is.  My last one wouldn't marry me with a prenup and said it was a jinks when there were already many other jinks's committed.  I hope poeple will realize that just because you have all the power in the current system doesn't mean that your rights will be taken away with tweeks in the law to make it more amicable than the current one is especially for those that want to keep their family together regardless of what others want to impose on them as unhealthy.  It is not unhealthy to deal with things emotionally.  (at least if the norm for women) and men get tourmented for being logical and more understanding.  I am trying to fight for BOTH men AND women.  Women have the right to save their families if they choose as well.  Although it isn't apparrent with a 60% instigated by women statistic.  But with approximately 40-50% remarry to the same mate later down the road and that 50% of child support can't be afforded or makes one party poor and one rich..  means we need to need to change the current laws to be more amicable for all involved especially the women.

www.smartmarriages.com  www.divorcereform.org changes will happen whether you guys like it or not.  It needs to happen and there are plenty working on it behind your backs.  One day the legislators will do what is right and make things better for the family sooner than later.

Women get to complain and accuse and act like victims for the rest of their life after they are abused but when a man complains about it he is just been dealt a bad hand and should just get over it and 'move' on and not talk about it.  Well it's real.  It happens to men and they have to be given compassion and attention just as much as the women have been given.  So tell me how that isn't being oppressed??  I am not just referring to myself.  www.malesurvivor.org  People are not educated they are just brainwashed as to this is how things are and you can't change them or should try to fight to make things better cause it a waste of time.  Well it only took a few women to start an uproar before and so fine attack me all you want I am willing to take the brunt for all those that feel the same as I do.  Just because they aren't here on livejournal mostly because they are out working hard to support two households then they are not represented because they can't speak for themselves.  They aren't here to defend themselves.  So I will.

Broken Heart

seeking something to ease the pain [28 Sep 2007|01:59pm]

cottleston_pie
I'm a twenty-yr-old female and a junior in college. Last year I met a guy who became the best friend I think I've ever had. We always make each other laugh and we can talk to each other about anything. I've told him things and admitted things to him that I had trouble admitting to myself. He in turn opened up to me. We weren't inseparable or anything, though I suppose in some sense we were, but he understood me and never judged me and I tried to do the same for him.

After a few months, we ended up making out one night when we were alone in his room. His roommate was spending the night in his girlfriend's room and I took his roommate's bed. This went on for a few weeks where whenever he had the room to himself, we'd end up together. Then we started having sex with each other.

At the time, this wasn't a problem. I was coming out of a seriously bad breakup with my boyfriend of almost 2 years. I didn't want a relationship, but I missed the physical intimacy. Finally, I did start to wonder what would happen if we dated, but my friend told me he wasn't sure. Summer came and we stopped.

We talked a lot over the summer. My friend was in love with another woman from our college, who'd rejected him repeatedly in the past and did so again over the summer. I felt jealous, not just of their friendship and the fact that he kept it up even though she treated him badly, but of the fact that he wanted her and not me. The fact that we lived in different states made it easier to deal with it.

When we came back this year, I thought things would go back to normal. Even though I had been harboring a crush, it was a little one and it was understandable. But when we finally were alone together, it went wrong.

He asked me out to dinner. He told me he was crazy about me, that he thought about me a lot, that he had missed me terribly over the summer. He really wanted to try dating. This naturally came as a blow, because I expected no returned feeling to my attraction and now I had an opportunity that could potentially ruin the friendship.

Needless to say, I accepted. I knew at the time that he had stopped seeing his other friend because he couldn't deal with his feelings for her, but I wanted to give it a shot. We had dinner and it was wonderful. We started seeing each other randomly for a few weeks. We always had a good time and I was very happy.

You can tell where this is going. My feelings became stronger and his faded. After about 5 weeks, he told me that he was sorry, he'd tried, but he couldn't feel that way about me. I was always going to be his friend, but never his girlfriend.

But now the friendship is totally altered. I can't go back to the way I used to feel about him. I suppose if the dates had gone badly, if we didn't have such a good time together, if there was something wrong with me, I'd have an easier time accepting it, but no. He said it was nothing I had done. He found me physically attractive, but romantically, he couldn't find the interest. Because we'd met each other and gotten to know each other as friends, he said couldn't switch his mindset, even though he had honestly tried. And I believe him completely, it just doesn't change the fact that I am very, very hurt. I can't imagine being able to deal with it when he begins dating someone else.

I realize I made a mistake getting physically involved with him at all. I know that, but I can't change it. I am where I am now. I'm fairly heartbroken and utterly lost as to what I can do to salvage our friendship. I refuse to just give up and stop being friends with him because he means too much to me. Also, I'm trying my damnedest but I can't stop HOPING. I feel rejected, but somewhere deep down I feel that little voice saying, "You never know what could happen. Give in but don't give up." But I do know. He told me he could NEVER feel that way. He tried, but he couldn't. And letting that voice tell me otherwise will just make it hurt more when he meets someone new, when he falls in love, and if we remain as close as we are now, when he gets married.

If you have advice, if you've been in a similar situation, if you've even read this far, I'd be happy to hear from you. He's my best friend and I love him dearly, I don't want to have to stop being with him because of this.

My wife of 5 years (our anniversary was May 18) told me last night she'd be home at 10:00 p.m. after going to a sci-fi convention; called once to say it'd be more like 11:30 - 12:00, and then finally came home at 6:00 a.m. without so much as another call.

She was 19 when we met; I was 23. We waited four years to get married, but we were both sure at the time.

I asked her when she arrived home (I stayed up all night, worried about her--normally I wouldn't, but this was a time she had stated a time she'd be back and accidentally did not have her cell phone with her; I had no way to contact her) if there was anything going on. She proceeded to tell me she was basically sure she didn't love me anymore like a wife should, she wanted to sleep with others since she felt like she hadn't experienced anything like that (we were both virgins when we met), told me she wanted to try things on her own. She told me it was nothing I did; indeed, that I have been everything she could have wanted in a husband; the issues here are with her and not me at all, but it wouldn't be fair to either of us if she tried to stick it out. We have an incredible 4-year old daughter who looks just like her mother.

So the point of all this: I'm definitely feeling shaken to the core. There was no warning of this whatsoever; indeed, the past month I would have called our best ever--I had come more in touch with my feelings, and much more, and we were communicating like never before, or so I thought. She has come to the above conclusions in the past month, as she said. I am a teacher, and so her main reason for not saying anything was to wait until summer, when I wouldn't have school to worry about, (and it's true, school definitely has become a low priority in the last 14 hours, for sure) but I feel like I've been dropped off a cliff I was just about to fly from. My faith is unshakable, and there is no question that it will stay there through this, and I trust God in everything that happens, but I could sure use some understanding comments right now; I am about to become separated for life and a half-time daddy to a girl I can't imagine spending one night without, let alone missing any of her firsts.

BTW, we are not 100% sure we will separate. She agreed to seek counseling and to be 100% sure this is what she wants. But, I hold little hope for counseling; she is very obstinate when she wants to be.

okay, i dont really know how to start..

i posted here, like 3 months ago about my boyfriend wanting a break, just to think about what he feels and to make up his mind, cause he wasnt really sure how to go on or what he feels for me. We've been together for almost 2 years now. til then there was never anything, we never cheated on each other, we didnt argue a lot, it was just going well.

it wasnt perfect, but our problems were nothing that you couldnt talk about and change..
well anyways. after he said he wants some time off back then, we had a long talk and he said he loves me and lets try it again. i asked him what to change and stuff, but he could not really tell, so we just went on like we did before, except of a few little things, liek me trying to give him a little more freedom, when it comes to going out with his friends. so thats all 3 months ago..

last sunday was my birthday and he was supposed to come over and celebrate it with me, before that day everything seemed to be fine he told me he loves me and even wrote it on the evening before my birthday. on my birthday it was weird, i texted him in the morning,
asking how he is, and stuff like that, and that i love him. no reply from him. then at like 2 in the afternoon i got worried a lot, so i tried to call him. but he didnt answer the phone. some time later he wrote me a sms telling me he was feeling really bad, he had puked and he doesnt have much voice anymore and that he's sorry. i was like wtf? i knew he was lying, cause normally he does come over no matter how bad he is feeling and he would at least write "i love you" at the end. so i wrote him back asking "are you kidding me?" and he said "no, really, i feel bad. i'm sorry, we'll meet tomorrow, but happy birthday.. "

thats it. i just wrote back "ok" i was so mad at him. he tried to call me in the evening but i was mad at him, so i didnt answer the phone. we didnt meet on monday after that cause i still didnt pick up the phone each time he called me. i was so angry, i just didnt wanna talk and i knew just what he wanted to tell me. i knew he wanted to tell me he wants to break up. cause he didnt write me any sms like we usually do and because he didnt say he loves me in his previous sms'.. so tuesday comes and i heard nothing from him til late evening.

so i call him.. but he doesnt reply.. i wrote him something like "youre such a coward" but no reply.. then i called him again, and he answers the phone..

well, he said he's sorry, but he just wants to be alone right now, not being in any relationship, he wants to have fun, live his life and things liek that. he also said he's sorry all the time and that it just doesnt make sense right now and he's not sure whether it will
in the future. when i asked him how he wants this to go on now he said "i dont want this to go on, at least not right now" i cried, i cried so hard and he said its not like it doesnt hurt him to hear me cry.. again thousand times sorry..
so i ask him whether he doesnt love me anymore, he couldnt really answer, he didnt say he doesnt love me anymore, he just said "its not like that"..
maybe i have to mention that i'm 21 and he's 19. but he's really more mature than most guys in his age.. so it never caused any problems in our relationship.
he also said, maybe it would have been better if we'd got to know eachother later, maybe its just too soon for us now (and that after 2 years!) he also said, maybe we're just too different (also, we've been together for 2 years, and its not like we're soo totally different)
we didnt share all our interests, but we had a lot in common.

also, i noticed he wasnt really looking all happy lately when we were together, and when i asked him, he said just "nothing, i'm fine, i love you! i cant just believe him that he wants to end this all..

well, he also has a lot stress lately, he has some final tests, is doing his driving license soon and his mum wants to get pregnant again, and wants him to move out. i dont know if its important to know, i'm living alone since half a year and we talked about him moving in, but i didnt want that just right now, since i just moved out and wanted to live a long for a while, he said he understands that and i think he really did. i didnt totally
say i dont want him here, i just said maybe in half a year or 1 year.we had plans for our future and so on. I'm totally dewasted, i dont really know what to do

:S

i talked to some of his co workers (we work at the same place and i get along very well with her) and i told her (she wont tell him about it) she said i should fight for him. do something he does not expect, write him a simple sms how he's doing and that i miss him..

well i did so, he wrote me back, telling me he was doing okay, more or less.. and asking me how i feel. i just told him i'm feeling bad.. i didnt really expect him to tell me he's missing me.. well he didnt say it anyway. we texted each other a few times and agreed on meeting tomorrow evening, to talk about it again. i dont really know what to expect, i'm pretty sure he didnt really change his mind about it, those last days..

so my question is, what do you think about it and what should i tell him tomorrow?
i love him, i love him more than anything, i know i didnt always treat him as good as he did treat me and like he deserved it.. i also just cant believe that he wants to give up that all, just to have fun and live his life.. i wish i could do or say something that makes him think about it again and change his mind :/ i'm really ready for changing a lot, just to make our relationship better and work out. if he just told me..

this is gonna be so hard tomorrow, i'm just asking for any advice what to do or better not to do and so on.. i hope you can help me somehow or give me any advice, i'd be so grateful!

thank you for taking the time to read it, i know its a kinda long story..

On New Years I guess I got too drunk.
I guess I started to remember last New Years & how happy I was to start the year with you.
I guess I just found a phone and decided to spill everything to you.
I guess you were too drunk too.
I guess it wasnt what you wanted to hear.

Then last night you threw it back at me.
Then you call me 5 times and txt me because im ignoring you.

I took it all back.

Today you txted me again saying I was your best friend and loved me.
Before when you said you loved me I guess I got it mixed up.
Being your ex and still loving you I read it wrong.

Now were pretending like nothing happened.
Not 1 word been said since that message.
Back to normal now.

I cant take it anymore.

[ mood | confused ]

The number one predictor of divorce is the habitual avoidance of conflict.

And what's sad is the reason we avoid conflict is because we believe it will cause divorce.
It's like the cartoon where the couple explains to the marriage counselor,
"We never talk anymore. We figured out that's when we have all our fights."

In the beginning, we avoid conflict because we
are so much in love and we believe that "being in love" is about agreeing.
We're afraid that if we disagree - or fight - we'll ruin our marriage.

Later, we avoid conflict because when we try to deal with our differences
things get so out of hand and our fights so destructive and upsetting
that we simply shut down. After a few bad blow-ups we
become determined to avoid conflict at any cost.

Successful couples are those who know how to discuss their differences
in ways that actually strengthen their relationship and improve intimacy.
Successful couples don't let their disagreements contaminate the rest of the relationship.
While it's true that we don't get married to handle conflict, if a couple doesn't
know how - or learn how - to fight or disagree successfully, they won't be able to
do all the other things they got married to do.
Or, put another way, it's hard to take her out to the ball game if you're not speaking.
Often couples are so determined to avoid disagreeing they quit speaking.

We also need to realize that every happy, successful couple has
approximately ten areas of "incompatibility" or disagreement that they will never resolve.

The divorce courts have it all wrong.  "Irreconcilable differences" - like a bad knee or a chronic back - are
part of every good marriage. Successful couples learn to dance in spite of their differences.
If we switch partners we'll just get ten new areas of disagreement, and sadly,
the most distructive will be about the children from our previous relationships.

In addition to skills for handling disagreements, we also have to learn to welcome and embrace change.
When we marry we promise to stay together till death us do part --  but, we don't promise to stay the same!
We need skills to integrate and negotiate change along the way.

The good news is that the skills or behaviors - behaviors for handling disagreement and conflict,
for integrating change, and for expressing love, intimacy
and appreciation - can all be learned.  Couples can unlearn the behaviors that predict divorce -
that destroy love - and replace them with behaviors that keep love alive.

There are many different courses for learning the skills - many from which to choose.
The courses are not about what kind of marriage to build
- they give couples the tools to build and maintain the marriage of their dreams.

              • There are courses for different stages of relationship and marriage.
Couples can learn the skills at any stage - dating, engaged,
as newlyweds, as new parents, or after many years of marriage.

                    • The courses are also effective for couples facing serious distress
or contemplating divorce. It turns out that when you learn to interact
in new ways, the feelings of love CAN be revived - can come flowing back.
You can learn to fall in love all over again.

                        • There are courses designed to teach high school and middle school students the skills
for building good relationships and lasting marriages - to teach them what to look for in a mate.

                            • There are courses to help dating couples assess the strengths and weaknesses
of their relationship and to learn how to improve the areas in which they have poor skills.

• There are courses designed specifically for the unique challenges of stepfamilies.

            • And there are courses for couples facing the adventures of parenting - from first baby,
to adolescents, to empty nests - or for dealing with sexual dysfunction,
substance abuse, domestic violence, adultery, unemployment, dual careers, and illness.

• There are courses adapted for different denominations taught in
churches, synagogues and mosques.

•There are secular courses that are connected to no church or denomination
which are taught in community centers, on military bases, in childbirth classes,
in private practices, or at the county court house.

•The courses work equally well for any long-term committed relationship.
Courses help cohabiting couples - often can give them the confidence to marry.
There are also courses for committed life-partners, for gay and lesbian couples.

The courses are taught in classroom settings - think teacher, flip chart, "driver's ed for relationships."
This is not about therapy, or encounter groups.
Exposing private relationship issues and talking about problems and feelings in front of others is not part of the process.

Courses are short, inexpensive, user-friendly and empowering.

Couples enjoy themselves as they gain mastery and become "relationship smart."

Smart Marriage couples also model the skills for their children
which will slow the divorce rate in future generations.
"Don't tell us how to have a good marriage, show us."

The courses offer couples a do-it-yourself solution.
"If you give a man a fish - he can eat for a day;
if you teach him to fish - he can feed his family forever."
The courses teach couples how to fish! - to solve their own problems over the life
of their marriage and to meet the highs, lows, joys,
challenges....the 'for better and for worse' issues - with confidence.

Break Up...On a Break? [15 Dec 2006|12:45pm]

freaklover28
Well my boyfriend of 1.5 years broke up with me yesterday. Basically, it was to do with my parents. My parents have disliked him since the beginning of the relationship because of the fact that he's white (Not Asian like me), not as educated as me, and his family is not as well off as me. They were totally stupid reasons in our minds so we just kept fighting through. Sometimes it got personal and we'd fight about it but for the most part, our love stood up to anything my parents could throw our way. But apparently, my ex finally snapped and said he couldn't take it anymore. He hated the fact that we weren't allowed to see each other more than once a week for a couple hours (it's the rule in my house) and that he needed to see a change if we were to ever get back together.

Well, it's a tough battle and on one hand, it's over but on the other hand, it's just not. He chose to call it "on a break" although I don't think it's good to play with our hearts like that because we are both allowed to see other people. That could be a very dangerous move. I'm very confused and jumbled up, but I know that it was probably a bit of a good move to break up (for a while or permanently if that's how the future turns up). I'm trying to be very strong about this but we do still love each other and have already talked on the phone and kept in close contact. We're not cutting any communication off. It's going to be a rough haul. I hope I can do it.

I was getting married on 23rd December but he broke off 5 weeks ago, decided to sell the house and go and live with 'Mommie Dearest'. He has told me to 'stop brooding and get over it'. I hurt like hell, but what do I do on the day that was supposed to be my big day? Hide under the duvet, hit the town and get drunk....it's not going to help or take away the pain.

hi! im new and here's my story......

there's this girl that i've known for about just over 2 years now. i think im in love with her and have been since i've first met her. i've told her this. now that im thinking about it there is so much that i need to tell in order to paint this picture but i think i'd exhaust myself typing it and it still wont be complete. but i'll give the run down of my situation. ok....so like just last week she came over and we got to talking about "us" and "how she has a boyfriend now" i just swallowed it, but then not to soon after we made out with each other. so im a little confused and mostly always have been with her. i don't know whether i should cut my ties to her because she keeps twisting my heart everytime i see her and it's starting to becomee unbarealbe, or should i wait this out and see if our lives meet back together sometime in the future. so times i feel that i get lied to, and a feeling of being played but i try to give her the benefit of the doubt. but i may be a fool. i just don't know with this girl or what to do. i want to be with her, but i don't know if she wants the same..and randomly making out doesn't help my decision making. and to add she was just here not to long ago and we watched some of magnolia before she left. she hugged me, then left. that's what it's been like ever since the sexual relationship haulted. but that's complicated too. life is complicated! what do i do with myself?

I am seeing somebody...finally. Again. It seems odd to say that. I thought it would take me a longer time to start dating again. I know I still love my ex though. Very much so. I know it in my heart. I hope I'm not using my new found love interest so I can get over my love for my ex. It would not be fair. It would not be right.

My problem is:
If my ex would ask me back into her life, I would return to her in a second.

But I do like my new love interest. I see honesty. I see sincerity. I see a real person. I see someone facing their problems and not running away from them. That means something to me.

My problem is:
I wouldn't go out with anybody else but her. I can see myself with her.

Hmmm...something tells me I should get to the bottom of this and think things through ...... what does my heart say?

I don't know why I do these things... [05 Oct 2006|01:40pm]

This is something I don't know why I do. It's always happened eventually in my serious relationships. When I was 16 I was going out with a guy who was about 100 miles away from where I lived. We saw each other loads despite this, and he would come to see me for the days he was off work. After about a year I started having relations with other people, I think it was a need for attention. I think like this because I was always the ugly duckling at school and now I'd left men were actually starting to pay me attention. So I jumped on it and took it with both hands. I don't do it to hurt people. And now I'm in another relationship where I'm seeing my boyfriend and another guy in a serious relationship. I don't know why. I know they both love me and I have feelings for both of them in different ways.
