♥ Zangetsu and Ichigo (+ Shirosaki = my Bleach OT3)! And yes, I do ship them, too. But I really have a thing for shinigami & zanpakutou relationships, shippy or not.

♥ Well, with Bleach it took me a long time. I fell in love with Ichigo right away - both for his looks and his attitude - but I didn't get really hooked and interested in taking part in fandom until the "Turn back the Pendulum" arc.
5. One of my favorite moments.
♥ The Zaraki/Ichigo duel! And especially Zangetsu's appearance during the fight.
6. A song or track that reminds me of this fandom.
♥ Not a song, but generally any song by Disturbed. Partly because of one of the opening tracks from the earlier seasons.

♥ Huge cast list! There's someone to like for everybody. *g*

Date: Friday, 9 December 2011 10:09 (UTC)Oh yes, confused the hell out of me! *g* I did make several entries about that, asked around what made people want to read/participate in fandom, etc. Certainly very unusual for me.
I believe I was around chapter 420 when I stopped. Time/other fandom interests/personal problems - things like that, not because I wasn't enjoying myself any more. I'm still buying the manga (German translation), too.

♥ Iroh and Zuko. They are all kinds of adorable and badass! (As for other parent/child relationships...Hakoda and Sokka or Ursa and little Zuko are so very cute!)

♥ Zuko and Aang dancing with dragons. Yep. I believe I've already told you that I watched the finale of season three first (on German tv) before I started with season one, right?

♥ THERE ARE SO MANY OF THEM!!! But I still kind of can't get over Aang smashing Zuko into the wall/ceiling with HIS OWN FUTON! *snicker*

♥ Well, the soundtrack. Obviously. The Agni Kai track is the one I play the most and that randomly pops up in my head all the time.

♥ All the little different details: colours, hair, fighting style, food, weapons, and so on. So much love!

♥ Good thing I came so late and missed all the shipping wars!

Date: Friday, 9 December 2011 15:15 (UTC)You know, I often forget how truly, awesomely undefeatable they are when they're fighting together -like against the earthbenders who'd captured Iroh, or the Rough Rhinos. There should have been more Zuko/Iroh fight scenes.
Or maybe the Blue Spirit and the Tea Spirit should fight crime together. *imagines Iroh sneaking over the rooftops and throwing tea bombs*

Oh, dragons. I saw several AtLA snippets before starting on the series, and one was a YouTube video of the dancing dragon scene, set to the agni kai music. It was one million kinds of awesome, and forever prejudiced me against the actual dancing dragon scene because that other music sounds wrong :D But it's amazing. I don't think you told me about your weird viewing order, not that I can recall?
Oh btw, there's another YouTube thing of the agni kai music extended into a 3-minute piece. It's amazing. Search "agni kai extended" if you haven't heard that one yet! So worth your time.
*hugs back* I am so glad you like that thing (uh, I wasn't trying to fish for compliments, you've gone far beyond the call of duty reccing that fic all over the place *scuttles*). Sorry the next chapter is taking so long. I don't usually like using this word, but that chapter is a bitch. It's been changed over completely four times already. It's kind of an in-between thing between the first-time chapters and the next story arc (THERE IS A PLOT HALLELUJAH), but it still needs to contain some important character development between Jee, Zuko, and Iroh, and the whole thing just refuses to fall into place. So I waste time on smaller fics every time I get sick of screaming at the big one :)

I haven't told you about my weird viewing order yet? Have to remedy that! *g* So, my first encounter with A:TLA was pure chance. I was zapping through the channels and right into season three. To be exact, right into the four final episodes. As a huge fan of animation I noticed the quality right away and kept watching. It was some kind of weekend marathon on the German Nickelodeon channel and they ran the same episodes the next day, too - only then I was prepared and switched on earlier and BAM! the dancing dragon scene got me interested for real.

*g* I didn't think you were. But predictable reply is predictable and guess what I'm currently re-reading. And, let's face it - in fannish terms you made my year with that fic! *wince* The in-between chapters are the most difficult to write for me. But no matter how long it takes you, I'm still here waiting and excited!
I did see your other fics and have them bookmarked for later reading. Something I'm looking forward to very much. But right now I'm still basking in re-reading and have no room for new things in my heart. *g*

Date: Saturday, 10 December 2011 01:48 (UTC)Weird viewing orders are an interesting and grossly underresearch fannish experience, for sure *dusts off professor glasses* I finally decided to watch A:tLA after getting a call for papers about the show, and when I went out to buy it, our local video shop only had seasons 2 and 3. So I bought 2, put it in de DVD player, was glued to the TV for the whole marathon and then sat there screaming because it was the middle of the night and the shop was closed and I could not get the next season at once immediately nooooow. I wonder if weird viewing orders have some sort of influence on how people interpret different characters/events... I have a huge soft spot for Zuko's buzzcut, and maybe that's because it's how I got to know him? Dunno. Do you have anything like that?

Oh oh, I meant to ask this when you mentioned the futon scene -you know we see Zuko having a futon early in S1? But in later episodes like The Blue Spirit and The Waterbending Master, he definitely seems to be sleeping on some sort of elevated surface, not just a futon on the floor. It's the most obvious when you see him getting up when he hears the pirates coming aboard. I actually mentioned Zuko's bed in an early chapter of the fic, then had a ridiculously prolonged discussion with beta about how maybe it should be a futon or if he got a bed halfway through the season or stole Jee's bed or whatnot :D I finally just left the bed reference out because I couldn't make up my mind if I wanted him to have a bed or a futon. But it's becoming a pressing issue *ho hum* and needs solving now.
Tell me! What should Zuko have, a futon or a bed? I will abide by your decision.

Date: Saturday, 10 December 2011 07:52 (UTC)Oh, oh yes I do. Watching the ending first I've only experienced Zuko as one of the good guys, right? So I knew all along where he would end up when I started with season one and never really saw him as an "enemy". I sat there gleefully rubbing my hands and watching all he said and did very carefully, trying to get glimpses of foreshadowing.
Which of course also means that I was pretty shocked at the Crossroads of Destiny episode. Not only did it take so long for Zuko to join the gAang, but they passed up this awesome opportunity! *g* But in the end, I rather prefer it like that. Makes everything incredibly more believable - and let's face it, if it wasn't for Sokka and Toph I wouldn't even care about the gAang in the first place.
Actually, I firmly believe getting smacked into the ceiling by Aang was what made him get rid of the futon. The bed he's sleeping on now is probably metal and welded to the floor. *g*

♥ It was the whole awesome idea of a boy getting sucked through the toilet and becoming demon king in another world. Hooked me right away! The cast of cute/pretty/awesome characters helped keeping me hooked, of course. *g*

♥ Season three: Waltorana starts singing and replaces "Shinou" with "Maou", and one by one all the others join in, nobles and maids and everyone. It's such a heart-warming moment! I repeat-watch that scene over and over again, and sometimes I cry and sometimes I sing along and everytime it makes me squeeeeeeee!

♥ Actually, it's the series soundtrack itself. I'm a soundtrack fan in general and don't even have to make an effort to pay attention while I'm watching - it just happens and good soundtracks get stuck in my head all the time. And in KKM, there are some really great instrumental pieces that I love like you won't believe and which pop up in my head even when I'm not watching or thinking of KKM.

♥ Novels, manga and anime are different enough to cater to all kinds of shippers? Oh, and that the novels and manga are still on-going, too.

♥ Rakan finding the unconscious Chigusa in his garden and
kissing him awake with True Love's Kissscolding him for hurting the flowers.5. One of my favorite moments.
♥ Every time Rakan forgets about his abilities and touches a plant or seed. Every time Chigusa finds a reason to hold or cuddle Rakan. Every time Rakan is full of righteous fury on Chigusa's (or someone else's) behalf. Every time...the whole manga is one endless favourite moment for me!

♥ That kind of doesn't apply here. I can't think of any music that reminds me of Silver Diamond.

♥ All the heroes are so incredibly nice to each other! (Except when some of them try to keep Chigusa away from Rakan...)
