So, a few days ago I finished watching Song of the Moon and now I'm having fannish feelings about several of the characters, but especially the Demon King in White and his brother, the Demon General. (Yes, sorry, hello new incest ship!) I mean, look at those guys:

I like Riley Wang, and I've loved Wang Youshuo in everything I've watched him in so far, but in this drama? Some of my favourite tropes were centered around their characters, and their interactions were so good. So good!

And now I'm sitting here, looking at the AO3 page - four fics, all in Chinese - and wondering if I should start a re-watch right away, try writing fic for them, or start another drama with Wang Youshuo in the lead, all to help me exorcise my feelings about them. *sigh*

Since Wang Youshou is in both Legend of Yunxi and The Blooms at Ruyi Pavilion. Plus his new drama Dear Mr Heavenly Fox looks really interesting.

Even prettier in motion, and their interactions are lovely. *sigh*

I can confidently say it's not an obsession. Yet! *g* So maybe I shouldn't indulge myself too much, lest it becomes one? But I'm very tempted to start watching either Young Blood or Dear Mr. Heavenly Fox. So very tempted!

Yeah, I noticed him right away in Legend of Yunxi (so pretty!), and loved him a lot in The Blooms at Ruyi Pavilion and in Jun Jiu Ling. But the Demon Kind in White is my favourite role of his by far! So much so, I almost got SML syndrome. *g* Good thing that the romantic rivalry is rather light and rather one-sided (he's way too respectful of her choices to make it a problem), and instead of an annoying love triangle we get three close friends.

That relationship with his brother, though...uhm. Yeah.

No, not helping, but also not making it worse. *g*

I'll admit that - while I enjoyed his part - he didn't leave much of an impression in Yunxi. But then I was so completely focused on Long Feiye that hardly anyone else did. I noticed him more in Ruyi, though again mostly because he had such amazing chemistry with Xu Jin and only started to pay more attention to him on the *mumble* rewatch, but he sort of keeps crossing my drama watching path and I'd like to see more of him.

Yeah, Yunxi was my first encounter with him, and my appreciation didn't go much further than "oh, pretty, my type". But in Ruyi he had a major role and great interaction with ZZH, so I basically sat up and took notice. *g*

He was one of Jun Jiu Ling's four "husbands", and I as much as I liked her with Jin Han's character, I wouldn't have minded them ending up together.

Well, if I actually make an attempt at writing, I would have to re-watch, wouldn't I? To get the timeline right, and find the right episode to set my fic in? And confirm the reason why the Demon General did a certain thing (drugging him and taking him to bed) to his brother in the first place?

So, yeah, I really should re-watch. Such a hardship! *g*

ETA: To clarify, the drugging and taking him to bed is a thing that actually happened in the drama, not something I'm making up for fic purposes. But in the drama it ended up with them talking, and not with sexy times. *g*

I'm mostly okay with same sex sibling incest, and with xianxia it's even easier. With them living/having lived hundreds of years already, there's little in the way of dependence/taking advantage/power imbalance. With these two, well, sex is pretty much the only thing left that they're not already doing to or with each other. *g*

I volunteered in women's shelters while I was in uni... let's just say incest just isn't a 'sexy' thing to me no matter the configuration and leave it at that.

Again though, it doesn't bother me for anyone else to enjoy reading/writing it. :D
