Information icon Hi Go D. Usopp! I noticed that you've made several edits in order to restore a version of Daffy Duck. The impulse to repeatedly undo an edit you disagree with is understandable, but I wanted to make sure that you're aware of Wikipedia's edit warring policy. Repeatedly undoing the changes made by other users in a back-and-forth fashion like this is disallowed, even if you feel what you're doing is justifiable.

All editors are expected to discuss content disputes on article talk pages in order to try to reach a consensus with the other editors involved. If you are unable to come to an agreement at Talk:Daffy Duck, please use one of the dispute resolution options that are available in order to seek input from others. Using this approach instead of repeatedly reverting other editors' changes can help you avoid getting drawn into edit wars. The video clip was removed over concerns that it doesn't meet WP:NFCC#3b.. Belbury (talk) 19:01, 4 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

I literally did a single revert which isn't representative of the edit warring rule. Go D. Usopp (talk) 00:10, 5 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 24 hours for edit warring, as you did at Bosko's Party. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions.
During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection.
If you believe that there are good reasons for being unblocked, please review Wikipedia's guide to appealing blocks, then submit a request through the unblock wizard or through your talk page.  Spartaz Humbug! 16:32, 6 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
I was going to leave you a warning but I see you only just got warned about exit warring so there we are. When you don't like the outcome of a discussion the solution is to go to DRV or discuss with the closing admin, not edit warring over the redirect, what I have had to protect to ensure it sticks. Spartaz Humbug! 16:34, 6 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
@Spartaz The other warning was for a video that I shortened to fit regulations, and I did not pass 3RR for that. Go D. Usopp (talk) 16:48, 6 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
you knew edit warring was wrong but we're slow reverting. There is no way you can spin this that isn't subverting consensus and being disruptive. Spartaz Humbug! 17:57, 6 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

Articles for Creation backlog drive

[edit]

Hello Go D. Usopp:

WikiProject Articles for creation is holding a month long Backlog Drive in August!
The goal of this drive is to reduce the backlog of unreviewed drafts to less than a month of outstanding reviews from the current 3+ months. Bonus points will be given for reviewing drafts that have been waiting more than 30 days. The drive is running from 1 August 2026 through 31 August 2026.

You may find Category:AfC pending submissions by age or other categories and sorting helpful.

Barnstars will be given out as awards at the end of the drive.
There is a backlog of over 5000 pages, so start reviewing drafts. We're looking forward to your help! MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:37, 19 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

Plot summaries for three Bosko cartoons

Regional names for arcade games

[edit]

Hi! I appreciate your efforts in arcade game list, but can we discuss regional game titles? I see a pattern in your editing and don't want to silently ruin your work. I think we should be consistent and list games by their North American names, like other lists, because 1) this is the English Wikipedia and 2) it will ensure consistency. In the future, when someone finally decides to compile one big list, or at most a 3-page list, we can create a separate tab for Japanese games and make them more sotable. Daniel Northwood (talk) 19:03, 23 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

@Daniel Northwood Some games' common names in English are not their North American names. We usually prioritize Japanese names in English unless its North American release is remarkably well known and is used as branding beyond the licensed publisher. No need to separate the Japanese games, it wouldn't pass WP:NLIST anyway. Go D. Usopp (talk) 01:43, 24 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

Query

[edit]

Hello, Go D. Usopp,

I was just wondering if you could tell me why you emptied Category:Films with screenplays by Bob Clampett. I could understand if you wanted to put the articles in a different category like "Works by Bob Clampett" but you didn't leave an edit summary explaining why you were doing, what we call, "emptying out of process". Thank you for any explanation you can supply. Liz Read! Talk! 06:28, 3 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

Apologies for the lack of an edit summary. The category was emptied because the films listed do not have a screenplay by Bob Clampett documented in reliable sources as required, which is original research and hence inaccurate. Go D. Usopp (talk) 06:33, 3 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

New pages patrol September 2026 Backlog drive

[edit]
September 2026 Backlog Drive | New pages patrol
  • On 1 September 2026, a one-month backlog drive for new pages patrol will begin at a particularly important time for NPP.
  • The backlog has now passed 30,000 unreviewed articles, a level that has been described in current NPP discussions as exceptionally high and potentially difficult to overcome through normal reviewing alone. Backlog drives are one of the few measures that have historically produced a noticeable reduction in the backlog, so the participation of as many active patrollers as possible will matter this month.
  • If you can review during September, please make articles your priority. Every article that is reviewed is a meaningful reduction in the backlog. With the queue at its current size, even a relatively small increase in the number of articles each patroller reviews can add up to a substantial difference over the course of the month.
  • This is a hybrid drive, so redirect reviewing is still included. Redirects can be a useful way for newer patrollers to get comfortable with NPP and can help people build up to reviewing articles. However, the main goal of this drive is to tackle the article backlog, and experienced patrollers are particularly encouraged to spend as much of their available reviewing time on articles as they can.
  • Barnstars will be awarded based on the number of articles and redirects patrolled.
  • Each article review will earn 1 point, while each redirect review will earn 0.2 points.
  • Streak awards will be given out based on consistently hitting point thresholds for each week of the drive.
  • Barnstars will also be granted for re-reviewing articles previously reviewed by other patrollers during the drive.
  • If you have been thinking about doing more NPP, this is an especially good month to jump in. Whether you can review a few pages or hundreds, every review helps. And if you are already an active patroller, please consider whether you can put in some additional time during September to help bring the backlog back under control.
  • Interested in taking part? Sign up here.

Hi there. I recently expanded The King of Fighters 2002 Unlimited Match after having access to the Japanese website and reviews for the PC port. However, I am not an native English speaker so I tend to make mistakes. Could you revise its prose just like you did with 95? Cheers.Tintor2 (talk) 23:29, 4 September 2026 (UTC)Reply

Thanks. Today I also tried expanding The King of Fighters '98 Ultimate Match since it was very small so it might need to be retouched. Cheers. Tintor2 (talk) 19:02, 9 September 2026 (UTC)Reply

WIP 2600 list at my sandbox

[edit]

Hi, I noticed you've been doing a lot of work on List of Atari 2600 games recently, especially on the later post-crash stuff which I really appreciate cause that's a real gap in my knowledge. I wanted to let you know I've been working on an entirely new version of the list over at my sandbox. It currently features a combined first-party and third-party, cleaned up titles, cleaned up NA dates, a first pass at PAL dates, and culling of certain redundant notes.

I don't really want to integrate it with the main article until the PAL column is a little more presentable, but it'll be a lot more research till I'm completely satisfied with it. I also want to a big clean up of the developer column but I realized it would be a better idea to wait to do that later once it's intergrated. I've also been mulling over just getting rid of the notes entirely, turning them into footnotes where appropriate, to leave room for perhaps more space efficient columns (like maybe a seperate column for "designer" and "developer", or serial numbers, cross platform comparisons, an actually organized genre column, something like that)

Do you think I should try to clean it up and integrate it as soon as possible so our work doesn't get forked too much, or do you think its not ready for that? Also let me know what you think might be too bold, I have a hard time being collaborative sometimes. Whipmywillows (talk) 05:54, 14 September 2026 (UTC)Reply

I would recommend integrating the changes directly except for information with minimal sourcing available, the improvements are a great benefit to the article. Info on the PAL games can be added gradually given how inconsistent the documentation is about PAL games on this console. Go D. Usopp (talk) 06:01, 14 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
Ok. I'll try to get a clean version added soon. Trying to come up with what a good solution is for the games were sourcing is clear a PAL version exists but gives absolutely no indication of when. I could just guess a year which is what every other list does, if you've got a better idea let me know. Whipmywillows (talk) 06:10, 14 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
