On Friday, April 28 of 2006, Mom, G, J, Ja, and I went to a concert featuring Hurt as the opening act, followed by Three Days Grace, and then, the stars of the Staind concert, STAIND!
They had a security check thing. I had to stand, arms and legs spread apart, as some guy waved this rectangular metal detector around my body. The guy doing this thought I was male. I didn’t correct him, because I knew I looked the part.
I admit, Hurt was much better than I at first thought they would be. One guy played a fiddle. It was a good addition. Though, I must remind you, this was my first concert, and, despite my eye makeup and black lipstick, spiked hair that would have gouged out an eye, very wild appearance in general, I was very stoic.
But when Three Days Grace came out, I loosened up enough to cheer and pump my fists and such. The light show they put on the adjacent wall and that one behind us and across from us was very nice. It was a display of interchanging patterns that I couldn’t name.
When Staind came out, I stood and cheered, pumping my fist and such. Screaming ‘till my just barely healed throat hurt some. Not much. I screamed my head off and during one of the songs I was unfamiliar with, Mom bought my brother (Who was not with us or at the concert) and I Staind shirts. Near the end of the concert, we got closer to the stage, I cheered louder than I had all night then. The light show they put on was fabulous; I enjoyed it immensely.
During the break, in between band performances, whilst the crew was expanding the size of the stage, I pulled out my book, Eyes of the Dragon by Stephen King, and read some. Not really good concert conduct, as my mother kindly informed me, but I didn’t really give a shit.
Later on, as we left, I remarked loudly at the greatness of the concert.

I’ve noticed lately that kids at my school have been carrying around boxes of cereal. My thoughts: What the hell?

Monday, April something (Two weeks before the concert) of 2006, I had a tonsillectomy. When I awoke from the operation, I cried and thrashed, which hurt my throat, but at the time I didn’t give a damn. When Mom tried to give me water, I couldn’t tell if I was swallowing it or pouring it into my mouth and drooling it back out. I did a lot of spitting and drooling during that week, because actually swallowing hurt.
When I got home from the hospital, I went to sleep and woke up at short intervals for liquids and medicine. The next day was the same. I consumed no food on either day. On the third day, I watched Mirror Mask, which my sister let me borrow, and ate mashed potatoes. Only soft foods for me. The fourth day was the worst, but I found that a great relief was pudding and Icees. I hated the ice cream, despite what I heard of people loving to eat it after a tonsillectomy. I took one bite and avoided it like the plague from then on.
I got an extra week out of school, though, and am now back. During that time, I hated Mom immensely.

We’ve been playing softball for a week. I’m a decent batter, but when it comes to fielding, I downright suck and embarrass myself. I hate this.

My most important notebook got stolen. It had my poem, Fallen Phantom, in it. I haven’t seen it since. I’ve been trying to recreate it from memory, as my only copy was in that notebook, but so far I still have chunks of it I can’t quite recall. Suffice to say, this is a sore subject for me.

And so ends this extremely long report on my life during the past few weeks.
That’s all.
