Big Freeze

The BLACKOUT is officially over now. The Emperor has informed me that I am no longer allowed to tax you peons to satisfy my own tastes for torture. However, I have been inspired to take other courses of action, namely, to freeze your assets.

ALL MOD SPECIALS ARE FROZEN. If you request gil from gabranth, I will send her off to the Archadian Army (I have no doubt she would do well there... or maybe not). But the Emperor has informed me that it is, how shall I say it, illegal to deprive you of this gil without some kind of just cause.

Therefore, I have come up with a system. Each week gabranth will name three so called "affiliates" that you may get gil from. She will name them when she puts up a new submission round, and the gil will only apply to you if you won the previous week.

This freeze will last as long as I say it lasts. It means little to me if you have enough gil to win this competition - I have a job to do.

If it were my choice, you would all be swinging by your thumbs over a pit of hungry sewer rats, but clearly it is not my choice. The Empire has decided to grant you a reprieve from the punishments I would like to give you. However, I still control your power, and you are still under the power of my blackout.

Despite the fact that it seems like we are easing up with you, I have received jurisdiction to stay here for the remainder of the competition. Once the blackout is lifted, gabranth will be forced to hand over control of the Mod Specials to me. I sense a chance for pain and punishment.

Anyway, the threat is very real - she's threatening to shut us down if we don't start our payments immediately. Any Mod Specials from this voting post on are going towards our payment of the Archadian Empire. I don't know what else to do, guys. It's out of my hands.

Any Mod Specials I haven't given you gil for yet (meaning I haven't commented on the page about them) will still go to your accounts. I've managed to get that from Judge Myrna, but until she lifts the blackout, I have no power to give you any more gil from Mod Specials. However, the only way you can give her the gil to get rid of the Blackout is to participate in Mod Specials. Luckily, all the gil you win from the challenges in ff_party will go towards you and you alone.

My name is Judge Myrna and I am a Judge and representative of the Archadian Empire and the royal family Solidor. It has come to my attention that you peons have not been paying the proper respects or taxes to the empire, which is something that is usually punished by death by the more zealous of my associates. My favorite is torture, however. Captain Fon Ronsenburg will remember the cage he was put in for so many years, so feel free to inquire of him about this extremely painful punishment.

I have been informed that I may not have my way with you morons, so I will be instituting a simple punishment constituted by the laws of Archades.

I am shutting off your power, and collecting your back taxes. I'll be collecting a little on the side too, because of the trouble you have put me through by bringing me out to this miserable community. This week's "Mod Special" (how pathetic) involving comments for voting will fund my trip out here, so every bit of the gil that you earn by commenting will go towards me, and if you do not comment, I will take 150 gil directly out of your funds. Consider yourself warned - if you do not comply I will put you in jail and recommend immediate... "expulsion."

Furthermore, any more of these pathetic "Mod Specials" will go towards paying off the Archadian Empire. You must earn 10,000 gil through these Mod Specials before I turn your power back on. Every week that you do not earn me this gil, I'm taking 150 gil out of your accounts. Just a little payment so that I have incentive to stay in this hellhole you call a party.

Just a final note: your inferior hostess gabranth is completely under my control now. If she dares to go against me, she's subject to a slow and painful death for defying me and the Archadian Empire. I will be relentless.
