Program Memory

A2DP uses quite a lot of program memory, and the more recent the Arduino/IDF version, the more is needed.
Therefore it is critical that you select a partition scheme that provides enough of it: if you select one with only 1.2 MB for the APP, the sketch will not fit and you get an error message!
- In Arduino this setting can be found in the Tools Menu (Partition Scheme): I suggest that you select e.g. Huge APP.
- In PlatformIO you can define it in platformio.ini, e.g.
board_build.partitions = huge_app.csv. - In ESP-IDF you select it with
idf.py menuconfig(Partition Table).
If you need to reduce the RAM usage, have a look at the Performance Optimizations.
