just looking back over old entries and have recently become friends with even more jessica's!
as well as myself, there are now FOUR other jess's in my soccer team this year... me (Little Jess), another Jess B (Big Jess), two Jess C's and a Jess M!! Totally confusing!
I also helped coordinte freshers week at uni this year and there were two other Jess's in my leader team (not as odd as having three guys with the same surname - who weren't realated in any way!).
I also met another Jess through one leader Jess.
I think I'm attracting them like a paperclips to a magnet!

I want to know what middle names we have!
I think Jessica is a beautiful, wonderful, awesome name, but it's our middle names that help make it all flow!

Google can tell me all about the history of the name and such, but what does the name Jessica mean to YOU? Do you like your name? If so, why: because of your namesake, or the sound, the meaning, or what? If you don't like it, why not?

I rarely visit this actual journal, I usually just look at it using the 'friends' page... I just want to say that I LOVE the pink design!!!
Anyone else like pink?
I think being a Jessica has almost made it mandatory for pink to be my favourite colour. I don't think that's a bad thing at all!

It has probably been done, but I am interested to find out what you were all going to be called when you were a baby?
For me, I was going to be Jessica or Rebecca (or Matthew Kenneth if I was a boy)
If you could change your name (not that you would want to!) what would you change it to?
I'd change it to something a little more unique... I love the name Alexis/Alexa, which is what I want to name my daughter so I'd probably change to that... Alexa Elizabeth.

At school I was lucky enough to be the only Jessica/Jess in my grade, but now that I'm at university I am one of four in my tutorial group (one of which shares the same birthday and even the same place of birth at my local hospital!)
Plus, I just joined the soccer team and there already is a Jess there... even more amazing is that she is also a Jess B! When we do our best player votes at the end of the match people have resorted to writing Big Jess for the other Jess, and Little Jess for me. My coach has been refering to us as capital J and lower case j!
Anyone have any ways to combat this problem?
Anyone have similar stories of there being too many Jess's in the one place at the one time?

I didn't even know communities for common names existed until 5 minutes ago...
So, I'm a Jessica- the most common name of my birth year(1982). I like to think that the inspiration for my name is different than most other Jessicas... however retarted it may be. I was named after a television character: Jessica Tate from the show Soap. My dad thought Katherine Helmond was sexy for an older lady.
Also, I hate being called Jessie(no offense meant to you Jessies out there). I always have. I don't know why I take opposition to this particular nickname, because Jess doesn't bother me at all. It's one of those stupid things in life that makes no sense, but it makes me cringe when people try and call me Jessie.

I had this friend that got a puppy and she called it Jessie. And when the dog was bad she would call it Jessica. It used to annoy me.

There hasn't been an entry for a while, so I'm going to try and conjer up some action on this forum by asking five quick questions...
1. What are three of your greatest hopes and dreams?
2. What do you abosolutely love doing more than anything?

My Answers...
1. I have recently decided that I should have some goals, hopes and dreams, even though they sometimes may lead to dissapointment. Three of them include: having children, learning to play guitar, and graduating.
2. I love to read... it's a little geeky, but I do
3. Right now, I'm too scared to go and see this guy I like and tell him I like him... I wish it were easier
4. Invisible... I would be naked (cos no one could see me!) and watch a movie for free, check out guys in the shower (!) and maybe play a lot of tricks on people
5. Today I am ok... I was feeling horribly sick earlier, but now I'm just freaking out about this guy... I know I need to stop being a freak and just go see him (he lives on campus too)

Hi, I just joined the community. Kind of cool to have everyone be a Jessica. It is such a common name, but I love it. Its a gorgeous name and we are lucky to have it :) Anyways, my neice can't say Jessica, so she calls me kaycuh... shes two. Its adorable, so I have all of my screen names as kaycuh. Just thought I would share, since no one really apreciates how I got my screen names, but I figured maybe someone here would. Anyways, nice to meet you all and I look forward to reading some of the things you have to say in this community :)
