Well...
Solacium has officially ended, and I've cried at least 3 times in the past hour.
I got to thinking about the rp and how much of an impact it's had on me. At first glance, it all seems rather silly. Me getting so emotional over anime characters being imitated by fans of the show. It's just a game, right? It's not real.
But then, I realized something.
Somewhere along the way, they stopped being Heero, Duo, Trowa, Quatre, Wufei & co. and started *being* real people. Yes, I knew intellectually that the premise was false, but the relationships and good times have turned out to be very real.
The guacamole fight, the night
silent_trtmnt03 came on to talk to Cass and calm her nerves before her flight to FLA, my packages and presents in the mail from him and
billion_dlr_boy, sharing blankets while telling late night ghost stories with Wufei and Noin.
Wufei and Zechs
(and their hosts) having the patience to listen to me bitch, whine, ramble and muse for hours on end - sometimes on a nightly basis. My big crazy birthday chat, the birth of the Angels, the birthday gag gifts...
All of this was what gave me the enthusiasm and courage to finally start to mingle in the GWing sandbox, so to speak.
I got to thinking about the people I know and adore now because of Solacium. Cass, Auntie, Jessi, Nicole, Mia, Suki, Dusty, Ashkah, Aiko, Sera, SolRosa, Selma, Yuni...I could go on forever. If it weren't for the rp, I may never have gotten to know any of these people.
TO THE SOLACIUM HOSTS -I sometimes have to wonder if you all have any idea just how much you've impacted other people's lives simply by doing what you loved. You all brought us together.
YOU. We met because of you guys, and it was our mutual enthusiasm for your project that initially bonded us.
Thank you for the memories and the friendships. Thank you for bringing me my Co-Conspirator and the CCC.
I am in your debt.
Not cut because I want to make SURE people see this. Deal.
