Title: Written On the Wings of Locusts Fandom: Prodigal Summer Pairing: Lusa/Little Rickie Rating: Very Explicit Disclaimer: Not mine. No way, no how. No injury is intended. No profit is made. Author Notes: Thank you to Jed, alicesprings, and supergrover24 for the beta reading! Thank you to Barbara Kingsolver for writing so a beautiful book in Prodigal Summer. It inspired me deeply and I had to contribute my wishful thinking to this universe that I loved so well.
Summary: Traditionally, Locust Medicine includes new leaps forward, leaps of faith, and jumping without knowing where you will land. Lusa and Little Rickie - two years out - taking leaps of faith.
Hi I'm new. I wrote this peice about a year ago. I would love to share it here. This movie/book has really inspired me.
Title: Requiem for a Dream Fandom: Dead Poets Society Genre: Drama/Friendship Total of Chapters: 15 Chapters under cut: Requiem for a Dream, Footprints and Structure and Discipline Story link:requiem_for_a_dream♥ Summary:It is only up to Neil Perry’s guardian angel to make him understand just how much an impact he had on everyone’s lives and how lost they’ll be with out him. But the dream of acting has always been his only comfort and without it he feels he has nothing.
Fic: The Progressed Moon Fandom: A Suitable Boy (Buy and read A Suitable Boy by Vikram Seth.) Pairing: Firoz/Maan Rating: Adult Summary: Set some time after the end of the book, Firoz and Maan explore their relationship.
Acknowledgements: Thanks to pun for buying the book for me and never failing to point out how I should totally read it since she, ya know, bought it for me and all. Thanks also to Punny for encouraging me to write some sexy fic for these two boys who absolutely deserve it. If she hadn't encouraged me, and if I hadn't promised her that I'd write it at some point, well, this wouldn't exist now. Thank you to shape5 who is the best grammar beta I've ever had, and who reads things she doesn't care for on my behalf. She's a good egg and a generous friend. And, of course, thanks to Vikram Seth for writing a realistic relationship for Firoz and Maan. He could've left us with so much less than he did, though I'd have welcomed a lot more, frankly. But, I suppose that is where this story comes in.
Disclaimer: I own nothing. I make no money from this. I just enjoy playing with other people's characters.
If you've not read the book, and need a quick and dirty summary of Firoz and Maan's relationship and storyline in the book, see THIS POST, but be forewarned if you read it that you'll definitely spoil yourself for nearly everything there is to know about Maan and Firoz's story, and maybe some other characters in the book as well.
Also, if you own the book and need a refresher course, see THIS POST by Pun which will help out the person who has already read it.
Well, hello there. *waves* Most of my time is spent writing my original fic, not reading other fic or writing fanfic (I'm a slasher), but I've been dying for a community based on paper-media that's not comics. darthneko pointed me here, so here I am. I am a passionate old school fan. If it came along after 1970, I eye it with suspicion, though Gemmel and a few other authors have won me over.
I see that the comm is rather defunct at the moment, but that can always change. So hi. :)
(We seem to be very dead over here. Oh, well. The better to avoid spamming people.)
Title: Shades of Meaning Fandom: Westmark Rating: PG-13 Words: 131 Disclaimer: They belong to Mr. Alexander. I'm just playing with them. Summary: Zara and Florian speak different languages. Notes: For fanfic100 #011, "red".
Am I the only person who still checks up on this community?
Would this be an okay place to ask for some help with a writing project I'm doing? I've got a story I've now written two different versions of, and I'd like feedback on the two different versions to see which is more viable. If anyone wants to play, drop a note and I'll send you a version. You only get one version, chosen at random. (After you give your thoughts on it, let me know if you're interested in reading the other version, but I don't want your opinions colored by reading both before you give feedback.)
Also, feedback can be as critical as you like - I do want to improve, and lovely pleasant things that I enjoy hearing, like "this is cool!" don't necessarily help me get better.:)
"You must not have read or thought of it within the last full year"
So, if i post something that i wrote for a school project um.... about 4 years ago, that counts, right? ^^ (I am planning to write some new stuff for it soon - inevitably m/m slash, seeing as there isn't a single female character in the book ^_~)
It's based on Lord of the Flies by William Golding (I think there might have been a film based on it, but i consider it as a book), near the end (only slight spoilers, though)
For those who have not read the book... (i have only described characters that appear in my fic)
So I've always had a thing for L. M. Montgomery's Emily books. And I've always been kind of annoyed by the little cop-out she pulled to set Emily up with Teddy, he of next to no personality. :P
Hi, my name is Manon and I'm an Emily/Dean 'shipper. :D
okay, not really. But I easily could be.
Anyway, I haven't read those books in ages; I need to go dig up my old copies and do that. But they've been on my mind of late.
Your mission, should you choose to accept it, has absolutely nothing to do with television or movies. *g* It does, however, have to do with breathing life back into this group. ~_^
Go to your bookshelves! Find a book! Read it! And after you've read it, write something for it! Look, it doesn't have to be a whole fic. It can be a scene, a teasing snippet, a 100 word drabble... anything! Just write *something* and share it with the rest of us.
The catch? The book must be either: a) new and never before read (this will be harder, since who knows if you'll actually like it or not) or b) you must not have read or thought of it within the last full year.
Anybody wanna take the challenge? Anybody? This was inspired by packing up my book collection and finding a few volumes I'd nearly forgotten about, which are now just sitting around unpacked and waiting to be read. ^_^
Hi, I'm Manon, and I'm a litficcer. :) Always have been. I write mostly Les Miserables fic, and lately other things ranging from Phantom of the Opera to obscure children's books.
Um, nice to meet you? *watches a tumbleweed roll by...*
Wait for Me A "Riddle Master of Hed" fic by BlackRose, 2002
The trilogy of fantasy books "Riddle Master of Hed", "Heir of Sea and Fire" and "Harpist in the Wind" are by Patricia McKillip and well worth the read, in my opinion.
This is unbeta-ed, unproofed, and written without the darn books on hand. So call this version 1.0, and expect a cleaned up 2.0 later on.
This fic is also lovingly dedicated to Llamajoy - merry christmas, hon!
obscure lit slash! from patricia mckillip's riddlemaster of hed trilogy, two minor characters. (wouldn't you know it.) unfinished, so you're warned; i just wanted to share the scene. (not that i hoped to jumpstart riddlemaster ideas in anybody else's head... ;)
Because it's too darn quiet around here and the thing is half hidden on my page... figured I'd post it up, get the ball rolling, even if it is an old fic.
