This BBC!verse series about the early relationship of Sherlock Holmes and DI Lestrade, featuring a Sherlock struggling with his addiction and boredom, is now complete:

The Good Father Series
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: Implied drug abuse, alcohol abuse, off-screen death of OCs
Characters/Relationships: early Lestrade and Sherlock (pre-series, gen), some Mycroft and, in the last story, a star turn by "Anthea"
Total Word Count: 9,500

"The Distance Getting Close" (Sherlock only)
What Lestrade needed that night was distance. What he wanted was a few hours alone in which to grieve. What he got was Sherlock Holmes picking the lock of his front door.

"Father and Farther" (Sherlock crossover with The Professionals, no knowledge needed beyond Sherlock)
In the process of protecting his brother and himself, Mycroft Holmes solves a mystery more than four decades old.

"I Wonder As I Wander" (Sherlock crossover with The Professionals, no knowledge needed beyond Sherlock)
It's Christmas Eve, 2005. As a very private drama plays out between Lestrade and Sherlock, other eyes are secretly watching.

Title: I Hear Those Voices That Will Not Be Drowned
Series: The Cold Song
Author: eldritchhorrors
Beta: The fabulous vector_nyu
Pairings: Sherlock/John
Rating: NC-17
Warnings: Implied Slash, Drug Use, Some BDSM Themes Discussed
Words: 8,000+
Spoilers: All of them, just to be safe.
Disclaimer: BBC Sherlock belongs to Steven Moffat, Mark Gatiss, and the BBC. I am making no profit from their work.

Author's Note:This is a deep character study featuring graphic depiction of drug use, practically drug porn. Some intellectual angst, but at heart I write love stories. This has not been brit-picked.

Summary: Sherlock has a complicated relationship with drugs, but John gives Sherlock an ultimatum. John doesn’t realize what lengths Sherlock might have to go to in order to replace them. What Sherlock doesn’t realize is that John is okay with that.

Spoilers: set many years pre-canon (1997-2001), with only tiny spoilers for 'A Study in Pink' and 'The Blind Banker'

Summary: Attending Oxford is almost a foregone conclusion for Sherlock.

Author's notes: I am currently studying at Oxford University, so I couldn't resist the chance to depict Sherlock as a fellow Oxonian! This story is a Sherlock-focused prequel to my John-POV fic Food for thought, but it can be read independently.

Sherlock passes through college social life like a ghost; or, to be more accurate, like a poltergeist.
