The tags on my journal are horribly out of date since I never use them, so here is a list of all the fic, drabbles and ficlets I've written.

Fics and drabbles are sorted by main pairing (other pairings are listed as well);  ficlets are just all lumped together at the end. Some of these are older (and worse) than others, so keep that in mind. None of them depict situations that are real - these are all a product of my imagination. The characters depicted belong to whoever holds the copyrights, not me. All of these fics do belong to me, however, so please ask if you would like to archive them. Feedback and concrit are always welcome.

1. I hate Pedro. WHAT A SHIT. I don't care. I'm increasingly incapable of turning off my dislike of certain players when they're playing for Spain - and I'm fine with it since Alvaro feels the same way. Pedro's a little fuck and basically any time the commentators talk about him I made angry faces and/or hissed. and fuck Busquets too.

2. this whole "no striker" thing depresses me immeasurably now that it means DV isn't starting/playing. also ok: do we sub Torres in ahead of Villa? do we? is that a thing we do now? I'M NOT SO SURE HOW I FEEL ABOUT THIS IN FOOTBALLING TERMS. or life terms. I get there is a feel-good value to letting Torres play in front of his old home crowd but...David Villa. 

3. kind of related: do you ever look forward to reading an article about Cristiano Ronaldo and his 100 caps and instead it's all about Leo Messi? despite the title being to the contrary? DO BETTER, JOURNALISTS. 

4. just. DOES CESC FABREGAS REALLY BRING SO MUCH TO THE TABLE AS A FALSE/KIND OF REAL NUMBER 9 THAT WE WANT TO FORGO THE TORRES/VILLA STRIKE PARTNERSHIP THAT WON US EURO 2008???????????????

my answer to this question would be: no. no he does not. if Cesc Fabregas came to the table I might leave it, in fact.

first of all, I am so excited to read whatever you write for me! I really cannot wait and I know you will do a fabulous job. In order to make your life hopefully a little easier, here's a bit more detail about my requests, as well as info about what I love in fic and the stuff that I'd prefer you avoid.

I know it's early in the year and school is just starting but Yuletide nominations are starting soon. I was wondering if anyone of you - esteemed flist, and others - have any suggestions re: what to nominate for yuletide this year that might be of interest to us generally as footie rpf fans. I was thinking about nominating pundit slash (Football Weekly certainly deserves a nomination, Sid/Jimbo oh lord I ship it) and I know some of you guys have been thinking similar thoughts? are people thinking of nominating women's football rpf? (distira? maybe?) 

I don't know if "traditional" footie slash deserves a nomination - considering that we're a small fandom, but we're still active, we have fic exchanges, we have cornerflag, etc etc - we're not really a rare fandom, right? I see yuletide as the place you get the fic you've always wanted to read or write for a fandom that essentially does not exist. but certainly there are fannish spaces surronding footie slash that I would love to see flushed out, and I think yuletide could be a cool place for that. hence the punditslash, the femslash. I also might nominate SportsCenter since I can. and Inspector Lewis.

six years. six silver and gold years to hold onto against the hard times, six silver and gold years to remember. I'm proud to support this team, proud to have loved them when this was only a dream, proud to love them now when this is our reality. proud of these players that I've loved since they were 20, 21, the young hopes of their clubs - the clubs they've left now, the past I cling to and remember. I've grown up with this team and I'll keep growing, keep dreaming with them. 

six years, three trophies. see you at world cup. watch out. 

SPAIN V ITALY. 

so the match was basically during my flight. I watched about the first 15 minutes from a bar in the terminal with an English guy (I was wearing my Villa jersey). I basically ran to the tv from security and as I sat down he turned to me, unprompted, and said, "they're playing abut six wingers." He was flying out to Shanghai, so he was going to miss England's game because he'd be in the air. He was very understanding of me as I swore a lot and we talked a little bit about Villa's injuries/my feelings of tragedy. 

then I ran to my gate to board and as I'm boarding, this guy in a USMNT jersey asked me how the game was going and I was like "so tense I am going to die if I can't get ESPN on the tv in the cabin." It was really great to have those moments while I was traveling. It can be so bleak and depersonalized and just, I don't know, grim to fly. I travel so much I sometimes feel really rootless, also, so it was great to have those two conversations in the airport, while I was panicking about Spain, while my phone was out of batteries so I couldn't frantically text my sister. It made me feel grounded, connected. It was one of those moments where you really do see what's great about sports - not the grand gestures or whatever but the way my jersey and my interest made a connection with both of them that was strong enough to overcome the isolation and distrust that airports create. 

ANYWAY SO THE GAME. fkldgjldfkgjlfkdg. I have had feelings about Spain's striker situations since basically I was born. I still think and will probably always think that Fernando Torres cannot be played as a lone striker. So I do understand the logic of the starting formation - in fact, I liked it a lot. But the attack still needs a terminus, it needs someone in the goddamn box if only to help spilt the defense. IT NEEDS DAVID VILLA OK MY FEELINGS OVERFLOW. absent medical miracles however I will say that if we're going the F. Torres route I'd like to see him played off another striker. If he's going to be a bit more deep-lying (which it seemed to me to be where he was playing?) I would like to see us bring a winger in the side of the box, in front of Torres. If we are going Torres-less, I don't know. 

I also missed Sergio marauding up the wings. I KNOW HE'S A CENTER BACK NOW BUT. he provided some much width! he gave the attack a lot more direction, too. It's hard to fuck around with endless triangle passes in a ten foot radius when Sergio Ramos is galavanting along. He is going places and those places are the motherfucking goal. idk, at World Cup, despite the win, I thought we often looked very direcitonless and...not listless but, I don't know, there's a kind of masturbatory pointlessness to all that passing. I miss the way we played at Euro 2008 - I miss the fire and brimestone and the endless, building forward motion to the goal. 

On a more positive note, I have a ton of faith in this team's ability to improve over the course of a tournament. I think it's very telling that when Italy scored, rather than shifting the momentum or breaking Spain's spirit even a little but they responded with a goal. They need to score, so they did. Although I wish that impetus had come a little sooner, or more often, that is how champions play. They don't break down; they redouble their efforts and they get shit down. 

Italy were a good team, and I enjoyed watching them play. I think the draw was deserved, and I'm not worried at all about Ireland or Croatia - we'll get out of the group, and get stronger as we go. I just hope we figure out how to get our deadly efficiency back before we face a serious opponent in the knockout rounds. 

So you know how I said I never write anything? here - have some Hunger Games gen. it's kind of a worldbuilding character study gen-ish thing about Finnick Odair so there are very very minimal spoilers for the second book. there's a little bit of animal harm.
