I'm with a not-for-profit organization that is planning on hosting a small benefit party in late October; something simple, just about 125 people, nibbles and drinks and socializing for a couple hours on a weekend evening (most likely a Sunday).

Ideally, we're looking for just a space -- we'd bring the food and the drinks. If a bar was our only option, we'd consider that. We're also ideally looking for a place just a couple blocks from 59th Street and Madison Avenue; we plan on having a presentation at a theater first, but the theater doesn't have a good space conducive to people mingling and talking, so we were planning on doing the presentation there and then adjourning to the second site.

So -- can anyone recommend a fairly nice space big enough for 125 people, a couple blocks from 59th and Madison, that also probably wouldn't be overwhelmingly expensive?
