Had an awesome weekend after some weeks of stress, Nikki visited for the weekend - which was filled with fun times, including seeing Up in 3D, watching UFC fights, going to an aquarium and a walk around Chester.
It has also been a weekend of bizarre flavours - I've had Oreos covered in white chocolate (in time for Christmas) and also -STRAWBERRY- flavoured Jaffa Cakes O_O - one for loganberrybunny to review perhaps? ;)
Nikki's now gone home now *sadkittyface* but it was an awesome pre-birthday weekend ^^
*waves from Worksop* Heya gang, I'm here at Nikki's, doing my best to keep her amused while she's full of cold, we're about to sit down for a practice Christmas dinner *nomnom*
It's been good to get away, particularly yesterday as I've had rather a lot to think about lately, but after rather a good conversation with a friend I now know where I stand and it means I'll be making some changes for the better in 2009 - for a change in focus could be the best thing for me in the long run =3
Well, Nikki's just left for home after a couple of days of keeping me company - during which time we watched a lot of Scrubs, Kung Fu Hustle (LOL!) and lunched at TGI's - I'm a little emotional at the moment as this takes away the company, but I do have to rest the leg a little more next week.
Today is staple removal day, going for that in a couple of hours, and also to see about getting the sick note extended. I get the 90 degree adjustment on Tuesday and to be honest I can't wait, it might be painful but sleeping on my back for the past week or so is rather uncomfortable ><
On a lighter note, my nan came round yesterday and baked a pie for the first time in years - using the apples that had fallen from the tree in our back garden and some blackberries from the bramble bushes near the bottom of the yard, and mmmmmmmmmm was it tasty ^^
Right, time for a shave and to prepare for the pain *eep*
[Edit: well that wasn't so bad, bit of a tingle afterwards like ^^ - though my knee still looks like Frankensteins' creature XD]
Ventured out the house for the first time in a week or so with Nikki, went down to Game to pick up my copy of Spore (OMGit'sawesome) and she bought me a hot chocolate at Starbucks *luvs for da scaly*
Afterwards my knee was understandly a little tight, and I never thought an hours work would knacker me out so much >< But it was nice to get out the house and get some fresh air, on Friday I go to have the staples removed and my first physio's appointment is next Tuesday, not only that but we've managed to arrange it for it to be at our local hospital, rather than having to trek back to Oswestry (around 40 miles away) to get stuff done -= well, apart from my six-week checkup.
But YAY! I survived, and a short nap later I woke up ready for pizza, which we're gonna order shortly ^^
As for Spore...well worth the wait, just trying to collect enough parts on the Creature part to make my own panther creature (complete with spiked tail and big cute eyes ;P)
With regards to Nikki's gift of art - she loved it ^^ *saves a happybounce for later* I've other presents for her of course, but they're here with me rather than by e-amil ^^ She should be visiting me for a couple of days tomorrow - I'm nervous and excited about this (mostly due to previous issues with my sister and the fact that Dad will be at home also) and even though I can't do a couple of things that I usually do when she visits - well we still might make it to the zoo in a wheelchair (depending on the weather of course)
What I -can- do now is get myself in and out of bed, sure I gotta make use of a box to support my left leg, but at least it means I don't have to wake Mum up when I need to go the toilet in the middle of the night. Dad's home tomorrow, so this little return of independence will be pleasing to both of us methinks.
Oh yeah, and you know the old story and image about the dog running off with a string of sausages from the butchers' shop? Well, think that, but replace the dog with a cat and the sausages with the remainder of the beef joint we had for Sunday dinner - Jerry cheerfully hopped up on the side, dragged it onto the floor and outside - I don't think Oscar could believe his luck!
I thought I'd sealed the foil properly after making a sandwich...>.>....whoops...
Whilst at ConFuzzled I met with the wonderfully talented SpiritRaptor, saw he draws scaly things and thought "hmmm, well I -am- struggling to find Nikki a birthday present"...couple of months and a small fee later, I find this in my FA notes a short time ago, which made me squee, hopefully she'll like it too ^^
