2nd-Feb-2009 10:27 am - Jack Olesker - The Saga Continues
I mentioned briefly that there was a little brouhaha about whether Jack Olesker was the deal or not about his PR history, and quite frankly, I've always been skeptical. You can read his threads here and here over at Rangerboard.

Then Jackie Marchand (Co-Producer from Power Rangers Jungle Fury) warned the fans about the whole deal.

So yeah, be damn careful.
31st-Jan-2009 06:36 pm - Challenge!
Recently, the series bible writer of PR Jack Olesker has been posting on Rangerboard, and now he's challenged the fans to come up with a new PR series. Here's an excerpt from his challenge:

For a moment, let's say the phone rings, you pick it up and on the other end is my good friend Jay Francis -- The Disney Channel's V.P. of Original Series Development. Jay starts by telling you something you already know -- namely that Disney spent $5.3 billion to acquire the rights to the Power Rangers franchise and that while they've done pretty well with it, interest in the series has declined and, with it, revenues (toy and merchandise licensing sales). [...]

What you'll need is to create new characters and new vehicles for a new series in order to create new action figures and new playsets that consumers will buy. The trick is to hit on that earth-shattering concept Jay talked about. Learn from the PR incarnations you didn't care that much about. Think about why you didn't care as much about them and think about what elements you would need in a totally new PR series that would shatter the earth. (And hey, maybe shattering the Earth has something to do with it.)

26th-Jan-2009 07:44 pm - Kalish at Comic Con?
I hinted at the rumor of Bruce Kalish (Executive Producer from Power Rangers SPD - Power Rangers Jungle Fury) appearing at New York Comic Con in this next couple of weeks, and according to this article, I may be right:

And once the gamers are aware of this new cable series, it's time to target the geeks. Which is why the cast & creative team behind "Aaron Stone" will be traveling to the Big Apple that weekend. Where -- as part of the third annual New York Comic Con (which is being held at the Jacob Javits Convention Center February 6 - 8) -- they'll be screening the "Aaron Stone" pilot on Sunday afternoon and then doing a meet-and-greet session with conventioneers afterwards.

21st-Dec-2008 12:40 am - Mini Ranger Reunion?
As previously posted, Jason David Frank will be appearing at Ikkicon next year, but if things pan out well, another ranger guest will be added to the list. Here's a hint: It's a ranger that JDF hasn't seen in a long time.

Sorry, that's all I can say right now until things are finalized, but if it happens, it would be really cool to see JDF and the other ranger guest back together again.
15th-Dec-2008 10:33 pm - Finally Some Ranger News...
...but unfortunately nothing's solid yet. Here's the deal:

That horrible-looking Twilight movie is having a sequel, but there are rumors abound with who will be cast in the next one. Michael Copon (Lucas from Power Rangers Time Force) is rumored to be joining the cast as a werewolf. Ok, that's the sorta-boring news.

The interesting news is that he's trying to pimp himself out on Facebook to get the role! Dang, boy! Don't look so desperate! Is Bring It On 6 not being made? Awww, poor baby!

Really though, for the love of Zordon, give him some work. Boy's gotta eat!

18th-Nov-2008 10:24 pm - Jackie Marchand Gone?
Rumor has it that Jackie Marchand (Producer from Power Rangers Jungle Fury) has left Power Rangers. It's reported that she has worked on Power Rangers RPM but has left mid-production.

Hmmm, were her and the new executive producer(s) not getting along? Did the new producer(s) want more slow motion explosions? Hmmm...

8th-Oct-2008 07:23 pm - Yellow Ranger no more?!
Apparently, the chick who was going to be RPM's new yellow ranger is now just an extra. Yeah. She says:

I have switched role as an extra in PRRPM. Sorry everyone.

Maybe the Mouse didn't want a half-naked chick as a ranger.
