My hand hurts. Yes, I'm complaining. It is healing well, but: This is the part that no one mentions in advance, the breaking-up-the-scar-tissue part. I expected the surgery itself to hurt, and it did, but only a little. Massaging scar tissue? That is much worse, in some ways, than the surgery itself. Add to that the exercises that stretch and squeeze the scars and it makes a very unhappy hand for some time after each of the 3 to five daily massage/exercise sessions. In the end, if it gives me a more flexible and useful hand, then it will all be worth it.
Sigh.
Sigh.
