It wasn't raining but the creek was up when I walked in to work. I could hear it slap and gurgle against the under side of the bridge. An endless stream of bright yellow drowned flowers were being carried out to the sea.

Today I went with a friend to a used book sale in a historic university building. I think it was possibly the most beautiful used book sale I can remember setting foot in: makeshift aisles of tables with boxes and shelves full of books in a room with soaring wood-beamed ceilings, lanterns hanging from the rafters, portraits in ornate gilded frames on the walls, and tall windows letting in an abundance of light. We both found lots of great books to enjoy <3

Hello, folks! I decided to go hunt down some good communities for various interests, and I...may have gotten slightly carried away.

This list is by no means comprehensive, but all these comms have been active in at least the last six months--and mostly the last few weeks.

DW can be like Pillowfort in the way sometimes you'll find comms where there's one person keeping the lights on, or the most recent post is from about 6 months ago--and both of these are signals that the interest is there and people would love more activity!

Also like PF, if you find a comm you love but that is clearly dead, you can apply to take it over.

I *finally* after years found a way to make the sidebars on the pages of my Neocities site stay in place with minimal position: absolute properties!! Turns out: helps if you actually make them sidebars in CSS instead of containers in html lmao

I tested whether they would move or not by increasing the font size of various elements since that made them move before, but they didn't move an inch this time!!

To-do list (not necessarily in this order)

Adjust color scheme to taste and fix contrast issues
Upload photos from PF posts to hosting site
Make icons fitting for PF x-posts, and organize them.
Transfer PF posts of choosing, 4-5 per day, remembering to back date them.
Fix website/forum signatures/etc to point here instead of PF

Edit: I went to go grab the oldest posts on my PF, and I forgot they were cross-posts from Cohost... it just goes on...

I have been chatting with

ravensilversea about having a small_joys community here at DW, since apparently it has an absentee mod on Pillowfort.

This is not something I feel the need to start/mod myself as I already have various communities here, but I don't imagine it would be very labor intensive if someone wanted to take it on. It seems to me this coming month would be an ideal time to have such a community available.

I have poked around DW and there is a longstanding, currently modded community called

awesomeers which overlaps what I'd consider small_joys to be. So I was curious to know if current small_joys users think that it would suit, or if you want to start up a separate community here.
