As my Christmas gift to you, I would like to give you this recipe. I made those cookies on Monday (along with 2 other recipes) and they are just awesome for ginger lovers.
Beat together until fluffy: 3/4 cup butter 2/3 cup brown sugar 1/4 cup molasses 1 egg 1 1/2 tablespoon fresh minced ginger
Stir together: 2 cups flour 2 teaspoon baking soda 1/4 teaspoon salt 1 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
Stir flour mixture into butter mixture until well combined (you can use your hands if necessary.)
Refrigerate at least 1 hour.
Roll 36 little balls in hour hands.
Roll the balls in this mixture: 1/4 cup sugar 1 teaspoon ground ginger
Put unto parchment paper-lined or greased baking sheets.
The new Yoplait Exotik selection makes me really happy. pineapple/mango, pineapple/coconut/banana, melon trio, peach/passionfruit why did it take so long to have such a variety of yogourts?
I just made minestrone and it smells so good! I had no idea I could make such great smelling soup.
On a totally different subject, I was reading an interview with Norah Jones in which she specifies that "I don't know why I didn't come" isn't about sex. How twisted people are to even think that! because I certainly never came to that conclusion!
Yesterday, I bought Häagen-Dazs' Mayan Chocolate Ice Cream. OMG HEAVEN!!! and I checked their website and there are tons of flavours that we don't have here. I want them!
Top 5 of the day: Songs that A-E and I like to sing at the top of our lungs: 5. Gregory Charles - I Think of You 4. The VeggieTales - Jonah Was A Prophet 3. Jacques Brel - La Quête 2. Bonnie Tyler - Total Eclipse of the Heart 1. U2 - One
Oh, and I was at the music store earlier and they were playing Roxette's Greatest Hits and I was singing along. Some guy said: "I used to listen to this music when I was younger and now I'm ashamed that I still know the words. But, apparently, you're not as ashamed as I am."
- leaving the bathroom door open and my cat coming in to watch me pee
- huge trucks that pass by me when I'm driving
- the wooden sticks in popsicle
- blinking lights
- taking off the cotton balls in aspirin bottles
- sleeping with my closet door open
- rodents
- those animatronics with the eyes and mouth that move
- being wet
- freezers that have that screechy ice in it
- cd wrapping that is impossible to take off
ETA: Since we're on the subject of things that creeps me out, here's one: 2 minutes ago, I was just starting to make my favorite breakfast (it's what I've been eating almost every morning since last week, recipe follows below) when I discovered a very creepy bug in my cereal bowl. So I threw the whole thing, even what was left of the cereals in the box. Now I have to start over. But I'm really freaked out.
Breakfast recipe: - cereals (granola or muesli are the best, but other cereals might be good too... Special K for instance is good) - if the cereals aren't very sweet or if you like very sweet stuff, add a bit of honey - fruits (any kind is good. I've been using cherries and mango lately. An awesome combination is: green apple, pear and red grapes. Mmmm!!! Berries is another good choice. Raspberries and blueberries for instance. - yogurt (vanilla is perfect cause it goes with any of the above combination of cereals and fruits, but yogurt with fruits in it is perfectly fine too. Coffee might not be such a good idea though.)
I'm telling you, it's the perfect summer breakfast. Smoothies are another perfect summer breakfast. Put fruits + yogurt/juice/ice cream/milk in the blender. It's so simple and delicious.
It's very weird how I can eat so healthy at times, well, enough to make my mother quite proud, and on other times I consider BBQ chips and Ben and Jerry ice cream to be a perfectly acceptable meal. That's what I had yesterday night. However, you can't really expect me to eat rice and vegetables while watching a movie. It just doesn't go.
I rented Lost in Translation and Les Triplettes de Belleville. I expected Lost in Translation to be a little bit better after all I heard about it. The acting, the picture and the realization were all excellent, but the story was quite boring. There were cute moments, but that's all. Les Triplettes was fun. The drawings are amazing and kudos on anybody who can tell a story using so few words.
I've been reading The Treasure Island at work and there are so many words I don't understand! It's quite discouraging. My nautical 19th Century English vocabulary is not very developed apparently.
Plan for tonight: Finish translation. 1 and half page to go. tomorrow: Go to work. (yay, I get paid more since it's a holiday) Reread translation and send it. Tuesday: Look for job listings. Maybe go see Dans une galaxie if time permits.
