Making my yearly birthday and Christmas wish list here again, since I would rather people get me things NOT from Amazon when possible... so here we go, some things I would love for my birthday and/or Christmas:

1. A sewing machine, doesn't have to be anything really fancy, just a normal one that can get the job done. Here are 2 different ones that are lower budget and I'd enjoy:

I'm making my first post here in YEARS, to put up a wish list for my birthday and Christmas. If you want to switch back to LJ from Facebook, comment here to let me know - I'd be happy to just come back here if that's what others wanna do, too. :)

I'm posting links here to things I'd like to have, and I'll update with my postal address once I work out how I can receive parcels (at my home residence I can't really receive any parcels). Probably will get a post office box.

Update: I spoke with my friend who runs the guesthouse where I live, and he said that I can receive parcels, but I must have them addressed correctly and include my phone number. I can provide my address and phone number to you if you want to privately message me - not gonna post it publicly here, but just let me know if you haven't got it and I'll pretend like I have no idea why you might be asking for it. :P

Here are things I would like:

New pillow - a new memory foam pillow would help me a lot with getting to sleep and sleeping well at night. My first choice is the Sleep Innovations Memory Foam Contour Pillow, but if for some reason this link doesn't work anymore when you try it, or it's out of stock, something like this one or similar could work well.

External microphone for narration and recording - I have wanted to try my hand at audiobook narration as a way to earn income, but I lack the technologies, particularly in microphone capabilities. The Blue Snowball Ice is decent microphone that is recommended for beginners in the voice-over and narration field. I'm hopeful to make use of my good reading skills!

Student Flute - I had to leave my flute behind in Malaysia when I left, and I miss playing. Here is a link to a suggested flute that would suit my needs, and which ships to Hong Kong. If you find an alternative option I don't mind. :) Link here

Leggings - I had a couple of pairs that I really liked that lasted me a few years, and now they're worn out. In the cooler months, these are comfortable and practical to wear. Here are some pairs I would like:
Size 12 please
Colour Long 0 3, Size M please
Size L please

New headphones - I have been using the same sad pairs of ear buds for months now and they're not comfortable and don't get great sound quality. I had a pair of Aerial7 headphones for years when I was DJing and they're definitely my favourite. This pair in green would be great.

Drinking fountain for Simone

New phone case - Huawei P30 lite, design 4 here would be great. If you choose anything else, please make sure it is a solid print or colour, not transparent. I made this mistake last time and 'transparent' silicone just turns yellow/brown after some time.

Incense kit - I am trying to put together a plan and tools to quit smoking, and getting incense and an incense holder or two would be a good way to help me have burning rituals without harming my body. This incense holder would be great, along with lavender incense (my favourite scent) along with some palo santo incense sticks. This could be a good incense holder, too.

Along the same lines, Allen Carr's Easy Way to Stop Smoking is a book I've wanted to try reading since a friend of mine was successful in quitting once she read this book.

Red hair dye, which is not easy to find in stores here, but apparently exists online. I want to get my hair to be all red again. :)

Nose jewelry - I have literally one stud that I can even find anymore, and it is always in my nose! Would be nice to change it up some. I really like this one, preferably with the moonstone and rose gold filled options, and I like this ring in Sterling 18 gauge, 10mm diameter because it's snaily!

And lastly, if you don't want to give any of the above or you want to just give me money, money is always helpful since I am underemployed and still have debt. I would like to be able to pay my friends back money they've helped me with over the last couple of years, and I still have arrears from the apartment I lived in before this one. More than paying back debts, I want to also contribute to causes that are close to my heart, so you can also donate to these charities on my behalf and I would be honoured and grateful:

Days For Girls, providing menstruators who don't have access to menstrual hygiene products, free kits that include a variety of long-lasting menstrual hygiene items. This empowers these people to be able to go to school, work, and whatever other activities they might miss out on otherwise during their periods.

Girls' Opportunity Alliance Afghanistan Relief, which is raising money to give to UNICEF and CARE for girls and women's education and empowerment in Afghanistan.

Breast Cancer Research Foundation. My mom has had breast cancer for 20 years already and she wouldn't be alive today if it were not for the medical advancements we have made in treatment and understanding cancer. Continuing this research can help us keep moving towards better treatment methodology, and hopefully, a cure.

And here's my PayPal link, if you just wanna send me some kash.

I think that's all I really can come up with for now. If I think of something else, I may edit this post. Thanks in advance if you do get me anything! :D

You know what's the worst thing you can do when you have no money to spend? Well, it's the second-to-worst thing, I suppose. It's looking at things you can't afford. (I guess the worst thing would be to actually buy these things on credit or some other way.) It's so lame that I want this so much and can't get it. :( Stop me from looking at things!

I posted this in a note on facebook, but in case you didn't see it there...

( Don't let this happen to you!Collapse )

So, Sunday mostly sucked horribly. I found out about what had really happened on Saturday, and when Rudy and I went to our banks so he could loan me some money, I parked in a spot without realizing that I was blocking a crosswalk and I got nailed for a $90 parking ticket. I cried a lot that day. Not only did I have no money in my bank account, but now I was going to have a $90 ticket to pay. I can only say I have an amazing boyfriend who is extremely generous, because he loaned me about the amount of money that was stolen from me, and he insisted that he will take care of my parking ticket. I hate it, really, because he shouldn't have to take care of me financially so much. I hate not being independent and I hate having to give in to his enormous generosity instead of just being taken out on a date once in awhile. At the same time I do love it because he is really proving to me how much he cares, and how much he wants to take care of me. These are really good signs, and I feel immensely cared for and loved.

Oh, and on Sunday he got home to find that his bedroom ceiling was leaking (it had been raining a lot that day) and a corner of his bed had gotten soaked. Yeah, no bueno. I felt really bad for him after everything we'd gone through together over the weekend. :/ I guess it's drying out now, though.

All of that crap aside, I am now residing in San Francisco. It feels good to be living here and it's been great to have to drive only five minutes these past two mornings to get to work. I still have a lot of things I need that I'm working on getting. I got a couple of small cooking pots, some plates and some bowls, as well as an electric kettle from Target that was cheap, but I really can't spend much right now with the situation I'm in. I have been wanting dual electric range burners so I can cook some things easily, but the electric kettle makes it so I can at least heat up some water for oatmeal and tea. I'm also hoping to get a toaster oven at some point so I can bake things, I also need a microwave, and I'd really like a new bed. The bed I've had is the same twin size bed I've had since I was a child, so it's rather old and not all that comfortable, not to mention it doesn't work all that well when Rudy stays over. So I need something newer and bigger (maybe full-size).

This whole process has definitely taken a lot of baby steps, and I feel like I'm still confined to taking baby step after baby step, painstakingly waiting things out til I can get everything I need or want. I've applied to CSU East Bay's credential program and interviewed and I only have one letter of recommendation left to turn in before I'm simply waiting to hear back, but I'm really nervous because I think I missed the FAFSA deadline, so even if I'm accepted to the program, I may not be able to go there this year if I don't get financial aid.

I've posted pictures of my new place on facebook, but I'll also share them here. These are pictures I took after the first day of moving stuff, which was just a few boxes and my fridge. Once I have all my stuff organized in my room and it's all put together the way I want (new bed and all) I'll post pictures again, but that might take awhile.
( PicturesCollapse )

I really like it here. It's definitely the best place I've lived in since I moved out of my parents' house. It's nice to be in a house and I really like my neighborhood and my bedroom is really nice (I love the floors!) The lack of kitchen part kind of sucks, but when you look at how little I'm paying each month for this room, it's definitely worth it.

I think that's all for now, this post is long enough! Sorry it took me so long to post.

Wishlist!

Okay, so even though I could really just use some money right now for necessities and whatnot... there are a few frivolous things I'd like, so if you really want to buy me something for my birthday, Christmas or graduation, here's what I'd like most.

( cut for picturesCollapse )

Also, I still have an Amazon wishlist, and there are still lots of things on it that I want: http://www.amazon.com/gp/registry/registry.html/103-5920989-1953419?id=3NV9BQ911FZIO

I'll leave it at that for now. I will possibly add to this later.

ETA: Tickets to see the Alvin Ailey Dance Theater in Berkeley in March 2010. I'd prefer to go on March 9th or 10th since the Sacramento Lindy Exchange will most likely go on that weekend and I'd need to have the weekend open for that. I'm not super picky on seats, so whatever you can afford is fine. :)

Graduation/Birthday/Christmas

I will most likely be graduating on my birthday this year, which is also six days before Christmas, so that's three separate events that people may or may not want to give me gifts for. If you are so inclined, this is all I'm going to want:
http://www.2plyswing.com/Z_NYEinSD/NYE_HOME.htm
I want to go to that, and it will take money. Right now registration is $180, but the price will go up over time, eventually reaching $290. That, of course, means that I will hopefully have the money to just register myself out of my own pocket, and then money I get for graduation/birthday/Christmas can go towards the trip. It will cost me money as well to fly down there and possibly to rent a car (although I probably won't need to). So... there ya go. Don't tell me I didn't tell you what I wanted for my graduation/birthday/Christmas! :)

My Wishlist

This is an updated wishlist for my birthday and Christmas 2008. I do also have an amazon wishlist, but that one is pretty cluttered with things I don't necessarily want that badly anymore. So, there ya go. I'm bound to add more to it, but it's of to a pretty good start. Go buy me things! :D

Ahhh I miss Célé Dé! Seeing this video makes me miss them and makes me want to repair my flute even more than I already have wanted to! :( I hope with my new job I can afford to get it repaired sometime!

BTW, this video doesn't really do their live performance justice... they are AMAZING to see live. :)

Our internet died for at least an hour this evening. This left me with not much to do, so I decided to get creative and finally start drawing again. No, I didn't work on any of my WIPs like I should have, but I started on a drawing I've wanted to do for awhile... only to find that I have no kneaded eraser that I can find. I had one, obviously, which I used for a long time, but it disappeared. :/ So I got as much done as I could get done with the eraser I do have (not a kneaded one) and called it a night as far as drawing goes, anyway. Hopefully tomorrow or sometime soon I can get one since I will get paid, and kneaded erasers aren't that expensive. Anyway, I'm just happy that I started drawing again. :) I am looking at this image, which is of Becky Williams, who is the singer of Late Night Alumni, one of my favourite musical groups. Obviously it is still very much in the first stages, and I have a lot more work to do on it (namely, on her eye). I only spent about 2 hours on it tonight.

Aaaaaah, I want to go to this!!
http://www.pacslo.org/events/viewevent.php?event=150

But it's on a Thursday. One of the worst days of the week it could fall on. :/ I have ballet till 6:15ish, and my parents don't go to SLO that day of the week usually, so I'd have to figure out a way of getting down there. Anyone wanna carpool or something?? Alice Sebold is amazing.
