AERENA - Masters Edition

AERENA - Masters Edition

What is wrong with the server?
The game is underrated and so much fun... BUT THE %$&!@# SERVER keeps disconnecting and desyncing! I start a battle with someone. Suddenly I can't deploy my heroes. I could not take any action, but my opponent still could deploy heroes.
So I surrender and quit the game.

Then I can't log back in for hours... SERIOUSLY?!
This happened to me before. Everytime I return to this game and start to enjoy it, this happens to me and bums me out.

Is this game dying? Will they add new heroes? Will the server continue to suck? So many questions...

It's dead essentially dad at this point. The company supported it a lot and released updates, but the unfortunantly wnet bankrupt. So, probably not on the secound point.
Aww man... If only they sold the game as a full product from the beggining instead of going free to play. It would have worked marvelously :/
What went bankrupt was the development studio, which was just a subsidary of the company owning all the IP and running the servers.
It is true that there are currently no plans to add any further content but the reason was more that not enough people wanted to pay for the game.
As for releasing as full product, everywhere we tried that it didn't make more money regardless if it was the first release there or the second. Unfortunately even if most of us feel that AErena is one of the best products the company has produced, it didn't gather enough interest from the players.

As for disconnecting, from what I saw we had a server outage yesterday. Overall the problem with connectivity is unfortunately something far out of our control. Something in between your PC and the server is killing the connection. This can be you (WiFi or other equipment) or it can be on the route from your place to our server. We had one recent instance with JAO:R where the user complained about constant disconnects and he could diagnose the issue back to somewhere in northern europe. After looking it up, even companies like blizzard have pages of support threads for this particular route. If you checked your equipment (which I suppose you already have) the only real option is to find a way to get routed differently (e.g. using a proxy).
Thanks for the reply Cliffhanger! I think this game could have used more publicity on the major youtube channels at release. Hell, if it gets rebooted I might feature it on my channel even though I'm just a startup.
As for the connection problem, I don't think it's on my side. I could log in to Guild Wars 2 just fine at that time and that's an MMO.
But anyways, the problem seems to have gone now. I can log in alright :)
KrimsonVagus: The problem with comparing it to other online games comes from the fact that each company has their servers at a different location (ours are in frankfurt / germany). Depending on where in the world you are this might cause problems. For the aforementioned provider it also seems to mostly happen during USA east coast evening hours so it might also depend on the time of day you are playing.

There is no need to reboot anything, the only way any development will be picked up is if the earnings get high enough to sustain development. For this we need more people to buy the game so any feature will help.
For one region we had a quite good contract with major featuring / advertisement, it didn't help the game so it seems we went too far of the established path to be of interest to a major audience.

Let me know if you have any further connection issues or if this was indeed tied to the outage on tuesday.
