arrr!
Septembarrrr 19th be Talk Like A Pirate Day! This means that Pirate Palooza is this Saturday!
Here’s the quick rundown for those what’s too lazy to click to the link!
-James Joyce pub, Saturday Sept 20 starting at 6:00 . Tenpenny is scheduled perform at 7:00 and then again throughout Pub Sing which starts at 8:00 and lasts until 10:00. We've got some new material (like our original - The Ballad of Leeroy Jenkins for you WoW geeks) that we'll be premiering! There is a pub crawl that happens earlier in the day throughout Decatur if you want to get a head start on the drinking.
-PIRATES (kind of a given, really). Everyone is highly encouraged to don their most piratical gear. If you don’t have any fashion of a nautical sort (post it note eye patches don’t count), feel free to come anyway and partake of the ruckus.
-Fine sea shanties, drinking songs, and songs of a……er….morally ambiguous nature.
-Tasty food!
-And BEER! Lots of BEER!
And more pirates
Did I mention pirates & beer?
We hope to see you there!

Just coming back together after an exhausting run of GARF.
Tenpenny will be out at the Georgia Independence Day Festival on the 3rd and 4th of July.
Set times are 4:15, 5:45, & 7:00 on the main stage.
As an added bonus on the 4th, I'll be joining Rosemary Quench of Three Quarter Ale and Naughty Nellie Peach-bottom of Wine Woman and Song for the start of a side project of ours doing some Andrews Sisters material. We're doing a little quick set of Americana songs followed by the Star Spangled Banner right before the fireworks.

We're quazi famous now in the ren fest circuit now thanks to Dapper Dan and the magic of the intarwebz! Dapper Dan made it's way on to the Renaissance Festival pod cast compilation CD which is basically the ren fest fans choice of songs from faires all over the states.
You can buy the compilation album here from CD Baby. A Part of the proceeds for this CD go to a performer fund to help out those in the faire circuit with emergency's from medical help to rebuilding from a fire and the like. The other part of the sales help keep the podcast up and running.
If you already have our CD, please head to our CD Baby site here and write a review. We are planning on doing at least one more album some time soon when each of our personal schedules aren't eating our heads.
Thanks to everyone your support over the past few years. It's been fun!

As I'm sure you all know, September 19th is International-Talk-Like-A-Pirate-Day (popularised by Dave Barry)...
But did you also know that the event is celebrated locally with the Annual PiratePalooza PubCrawl, on September 15th, the closest Saturday (because even pirates have to work on weekdays - blast!). There will be a mob of people dressed as pirates, talking like pirates, and drinking beer. What could go wrong?
Oh, and also there will be a lot of local bands playing pirate-themed music, including the Tenpenny Travelers. I hear they ain't too bad.
Arr.

*We'll be at the Georgia Independence Day Festival again this year on July 3rd and 4th. We can be found at the Tavern Porch at 3:30, 5:00, 6:30, and 8:00.
There are fireworks at the end of both days festivities and last year they were one of the better fireworks displays that I have seen. I think we'll be bringing back our version of Yankee Doodle complete with spoons again ;-)
*We're also confirmed for this year's Piratepalooza. We don't know many details yet, but we'll be there. We're learning a slew of new songs for this gig too. If you've got a piratical song you think we should do, let us know!
and yes, there are still plans for a second CD. It's tough getting in the studio again when we're working on gigs. We like gigs, but we also want our second CD to get started!
I'll post more info on Piratepalooza as I get it.

The Fox's summer movie series has started and King's Gate's own Tenpenny Travelers will be there this coming Monday (11th) with several other GARF cast members dressed in our best spooky fair folk attire for the showing of Pan's Labyrinth at 7:30. TPT will be performing in the lobby and playing the crowd between 5:00-7:30.
Dude, we can now say we've played at The Fox!
Also, this Friday (8th) we'll be playing at the Summer Sci Fi Convention (http://sfscon.tripod.com/) at 8:15 and possibly again that night (still getting schedules straightened out). This gig will be our Adult Themed Show.... :-)
We're also confirmed for playing the GA Independence Day festival again- I'll post details here as soon as I have them.

TPT will perform at the Georgia Renaissance Festival May 19-20.
On those two days we are filling in for the Kamayacha Gypsy Band, so look for us at 11:30 & 3:45 at the Royal Pavilion, 1:30 in the Brewer's Pub. We sometimes also perform at 5:00 at the "Pub Sing."
If you want to join in dancing, come to the Royal Pavilion sets. This season we have been running dances for the Royal Court and patrons around noon.
(Additional GARF dates may be added as well - we're still working out our schedule.)
Also, in June, we will be "musical guests" at the Sci-Fi Summer Convention.
We will perform June 8th at 8pm, right after opening ceremonies.
In July, we will play the Georgia Independence Day Festival at Historic Nash Farm, (4361 Jonesboro Rd. Hampton, GA.) This is a fun family festival with a really impressive fireworks show.
Festival dates for 2007 are July 3rd and 4th with fireworks BOTH nights!. Hours are from 3PM till 9:30 PM and they have air-conditioned areas!
We have some new material this year, and you can always request old favorites. If we have an audience that wants to dance, we will always do our best to arrange it.

Tenpenny will be at GARF this weekend.
If you come looking for us, chances are best that you will find us at or near the Tavern on the Hill or the Dragon's Breath Pub!
