As a pilot project of BRI cooperation, the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) has so far brought over 25.9 billion US dollars in direct investment, more than 260,000 jobs, over 8,000 megawatts of power generation capacity, 510 kilometres of expressways, and 886 kilometres of national core power transmission grids. It has injected robust impetus into Pakistan’s economic and social development, set an important benchmark for high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, and served as a vivid embodiment of the China-Pakistan community with a shared future.
Over the past 105 years, the CPC has consistently upheld the principle of building the Party with theories and strengthening it through theoretical education. In the important speech marking the anniversary of the founding of the CPC on 1 July, General Secretary Xi Jinping pointed out that the CPC takes Marxism as a powerful ideological weapon for transforming both the subjective world and the objective world. It adheres to freeing the mind, seeking truth from facts, moving with the times, and taking a pragmatic and realistic approach. It pays close attention to revealing and applying truth in the midst of social contradictory movements, is adept at testing and developing truth through practice, and continuously guides new practice with new theories, thereby ensuring that the cause of the CPC and the people advances in the right direction. Since the 18th CPC National Congress, the fundamental reason why China has achieved pioneering progress, transformative breakthroughs and historic accomplishments in economic and social development, and why China’s diplomacy continues to break new ground and make significant contributions to world development and human progress, lies in the stewardship of General Secretary Xi Jinping and the scientific guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. On the occasion of the 105th anniversary of the founding of the CPC, the CPC Central Committee has set out Xi Jinping Thought on Party Building, further enriching the scientific theoretical system of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era.
At present, we are thoroughly studying and implementing Xi Jinping Thought on Party Building, comprehensively strengthening the Party’s ideological building, and ensuring that the whole Party remains united in thought, firm in will, coordinated in action, and strong in combat effectiveness, so as to rally together to build a great country and advance national rejuvenation on all fronts through Chinese modernisation. Xi Jinping Thought on Party Building is a concentrated summary of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s landmark and pioneering new ideas, new thinking, and new strategies on Party building in the new era. It not only provides the fundamental guidance and action plan for promoting Party building in China, but also offers a Chinese approach and Chinese wisdom for political parties around the world to strengthen their own development and national governance. China and Pakistan are iron-clad brothers, and friendship with China is a consensus shared by all political parties in Pakistan. Building on our in-depth study and understanding of Xi Jinping Thought on Party Building, we stand ready to strengthen discussions with Pakistani political parties, deepen exchanges on party and national governance, continuously enrich the China-Pakistan All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership, achieve common development, and deliver greater benefits to our two peoples.
We are delighted to see that our brotherly Pakistani people have also made new achievements in national development. In the fiscal year 2026, Pakistan’s GDP grew by 3.7 per cent and reached a record high of US$452 billion, showcasing that its macroeconomy has continued to stabilise and improve. The services sector and large-scale manufacturing sector expanded by 4.09 per cent and 6.1 per cent, respectively, both reaching the highest levels in the past four fiscal years, demonstrating improvements in both the quality and efficiency of economic development. Annual per capita income increased from US$1,751 to US$1,901, up by 8.5 per cent, enabling the fruits of economic growth to benefit the people. Pakistan has also demonstrated a proactive spirit and actively played a constructive role by successfully facilitating the Memorandum of Understanding between Iran and the United States, making an important contribution to easing regional tensions and safeguarding regional peace and stability. We warmly congratulate our Pakistani friends on their achievements at home and abroad. Taking the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Pakistan this year as an opportunity,
China stands ready to work with Pakistan to implement the important consensus reached between General Secretary Xi Jinping and President Asif Ali Zardari, as well as Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, deepen the alignment between China’s 15th Five-Year Plan and the Uraan Pakistan initiative, advance the implementation of the action plan to foster an even closer China-Pakistan community with a shared future in the new era, make good use of the outcomes of the China-Pakistan Political Parties Forum and the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor Political Parties Joint Consultation Mechanism, accelerate efforts to build an upgraded version of CPEC 2.0, jointly take the lead in implementing the Global Development Initiative, Global Security Initiative, Global Civilisation Initiative and Global Governance Initiative, open a new chapter for China-Pakistan All-Weather Strategic Cooperation, and make new and greater contributions to building a community with a shared future for humanity.
