Janus 1 [Antaris]
Antaris' Janus 1 is a software-defined 6U CubeSat technology demonstration satellite created entirely on the Antaris software platform. It was designed and built in just 10 months with payload providers from seven countries at a cost savings of 75% over comparable satellite missions.
JANUS-1 is a 6U satellite conceived as a technical demonstration to showcase the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of the Antaris platform and features five different payloads running on its SatOS satellite software once in orbit. XDLINX Labs and Ananth Technologies served as the primary manufacturing partners for the JANUS-1 satellite with ATLAS Space Operations providing ground station services.
It demonstrates modular bus and multi-tenant payloads with onboard edge computing, programmable smart EPS, S/X band SDR, secure TT&C and digital twinning with a SaaS (Satellite as a Service) platform.
It was launched on the second Indian SSLV flight.
