Skoltech B1, B2 []
Skoltech B1 and B2 is a pair of Russian 3U CubeSats developed by Skoltech to demonstrate inter-satellite communication.
These satellites, developed by the Skoltech Space Systems Laboratory within the framework of the "SPACE-p" project supported by "FASIE" - Skoltech B1 and Skoltech B2, are planned to be launched as a multi-satellite mission.
There are 3 types of payloads placed on the devices:
The main task is to work out the technology of inter-satellite communication at a long distance, which will be used in the future when registering gamma-ray flashes with triangulation calculation of the direction to them. This will allow multiple spacecraft to quickly exchange flash data with each other, calculate where the gamma-ray particle stream came from, and transmit a receipt about this event to Earth so that scientists can have time to point telescopes in the direction of the flash.
