ThinkOrbital F2

ThinkOrbital F2 [ThinkOrbital]

ThinkOrbital Flight 2 is a demonstration of in-space welding and inspection technologies.

This payload contains an experimental electron beam welder and the batteries to support the experiment. The cylindrical payload is enclosed in a 6061 Aluminum Shell. A deorbit drag area device is fittet to accelerte orbital decay.

The 39.4 kg payload was be released into a 510 km orbit at an inclination of approximately 45.4°. Operational life was a few hours. The payload will passively re-enter in less than 5 years.
