Back-arc spreading ridge type copper deposit, hosted in volcanic rocks of the Jiugequan ophiolite.

The Jiugequan Cu deposit, located southeast of Shijuligou, is characterized by basalt and basic lava as its host rocks. The ore bodies are primarily hosted within the mafic lava and basalt of the Jiugequan ophiolite. The deposit holds an ore resource of 0.97 Mt with an average copper grade of 3.34 %.
The western ore belt extends nearly east–west, spanning 280 m in length and 10 to 60 m in width, and contains seven distinct ore bodies. In contrast, the eastern ore belt consists of two parallel mineralized zones that extend 150 m in length, with widths ranging from 5 to 40 m, and an orientation of 282°. There are three ore types including massive ore, brecciate ore and disseminated ore.
