A 2.5 km² porphyritic copper-gold-molybdenum deposit, currently (2006) undergoing exploration and development. Quartz-magnetite-sulphide stockwork veinlets are hosted in altered diorite and quartz diorite.
The deposit has indicated and inferred mineral resources in the Guariviara Zone of 202 Mt grading 0.49% Cu and 0.07 g/t Au (cut-off 0.2% Cu), including a higher grade hypogene central zone of 37.4 Mt at 0.93% Cu and 0.16 g/t Au (cut-off 0.65% Cu). Mineralization is hosted by a composite porphyry stock of diorite, quartz diorite, monzodiorite and dacite composition which cuts Miocene-age Cañazas Formation andesite lapilli tuffs and flows.
