Victorian era lead mine which was converted into a showmine in 1999 by the current owners (Paddy and Keith Geoghegan) due to much encouragement from mineral collectors, collecting is strictly prohibited now however.
Specimens from the mine can be seen on the guided tour in their small mineral museum.
There is a little grassy spoil just behind the wooden horse whim but collecting again, is prohibited.
In the deeper parts of the mine where the guided tour currently does not go, are brilliant colourless to light green octahedra of fluorite among other well crystallized associates including pyrite, quartz and calcite.
Irish grid ref. M 087419.
