Stratiform quartz-sulphide lodes in a Greenstone Belt environment.
The massive, banded, and disseminated sulphide ores probably formed at formed at 350-500°C (Pathan & Naganna, 1970).

Massive vein and disseminated sulphides within deformed Archaean metasedimentary rocks and metabasaltic rocks of tholeiitic affinity. Probably formed by subsurface and sea-floor sulphide accumulation from sulphur-and metal-bearing fluids of volcanic origin (Seccombe et al., 1981). Venkatasubramanian and Radhakrishna (1975) identifies two mineralization events based on isotopic ratios of Pb in galena: The oldest event @3400-3500Ma and then at 2400-2500Ma.

Mined from 1965 to 1994.

Located 6 km S of Chitradurga (Chittaldurg; Chitaldurg).

Note on the name: "Ingladhal" seems to be a misnomer used by Mookherjee and Philip (1979).
