Oriental and Central Mine
A small gold mine above the town of Mazama. It was developed by 2 adits containing 1400' of workings. A few hundred tons of ore was produced.
Alteration: Phyllic
Tectonics: Cascade Volcanic Arc
Deposit: Deposit has been given the informal name of a breccia pipe cu deposit, for which there is no published model. Deposit is now considered part of mazama porphyry copper property see also mrds record mp00023
Development: Exploration underway in 1988
Geology: Stock is probably intrusive equivalent of midnight peak formation, dated at about 88 ma by k/ar methods
