Lone Pine Claims

An iron mine above Pateros that worked lenses of magnetite in a body of hornblende and actinolite. It was developed by a short adit and a pit. Around 1000 tons of ore were shipped prior to 1943 and 1250 tons in 1943.

Structure: Actinolite Body Contains Ore Hornblende, Biotite

Commodity: 1000 TONS PRE-1943, 1250 TONS 1943, 1 CARLOAD 1944

Deposit: Magnetite intimately intermixed with hblende and actinolite; the ore is coarse grained and has a schistose (apparent) appearance; it occurs in seams and lenses; the ore somewhat grades into the wall rock; sulfides are assoc. With quartz. Two claims: lone pine nos. 1 and 2.

Development: Adits and a quarry.

Geology: Geol.desc: sulfides associated with quartz

Rock formation(s): Methow Gneiss
