1.52 Mt @ 3.7 wt% Pb.
Strata-bound Pb-Ag (Zn) sulfide mineralization in the Ahangaran deposit is hosted by dolomitic sandstone of the Kc3 unit. Sulfides and related gangue minerals appear to postdate deposition of the host rock and consist of replacive, disseminated, breccia-cementing and vein-filling galena and barite, plus variable dolomite, calcite and quartz. Formation of the ore and gangue minerals in the Ahangaran deposit can be divided into three stages: (1) pre-sulfide stage (oxide stage); (2) main sulfide stage; and (3) post-sulfide stage (supergene stage).
