Skarn-type lead-zinc deposit.
>10 Mt Pb: 10.1%
204 t Ag Zn: 11.9%
The Mengya'a polymetallic deposit is one of the largest lead–zinc polymetallic deposits in the eastern CLT, with approximately 2 million tonnes of Pb + Zn and 100 tonnes of In. The average grades are 10.1 wt% for Pb, 11.9 wt% for Zn, and 11 g/t for In. The orebodies are found in vein-like, lens-like, and bedded, primarily within sandstone interbedded with shale, limestone, and marble. Weakly metamorphosed clastic rocks and carbonate rocks provide suitable storage locations for skarn lead–zinc deposits. Faults trending approximately EW, NE, and NW serve as pathways for Pb-Zn mineralization, resulting in extensive hydrothermal alteration. Miocene granite porphyry and late Cretaceous monzonitic granite are exposed in these deposits. The Mengya'a polymetallic deposit mainly experienced three stages: prograde skarn (I), retrograde skarn (II), and quartz-sulfide mineralization (III).
