The valley south of Weschnitz is crossed by an ESE-trending vein of partly silicified baryte. It crops out in the small valley southeast of Weschnitz, where it was mined for some time around 1850. Scattered dump material with baryte and siderite still occurs in the area.
At this locality, the vein is hosted in bunter sandstone and carries siderite. On Eselstein mountain on the opposite side of the valley (see separate entry), it is hosted in gneiss and carries fluorite instead.
