Secondary quartz veins in green porphyroids (Melogno porphyroids) of Lower Permian age. Quartz can range from not smoky to very smoky, sometimes quartz veins include albite, hematite and probable but not confirmed montmorillonite clay. Pyrite can sometimes be found as minute crystals included in the porphyroid and more rarely it forms poorly preserved crystals inside quartz veins. Quartz veins outcrop in the woods below the hamlet of Cappello.
