McCarthy Point is a rocky headland on the Ingrid Christensen Coast of East Antarctic Princess Elizabeth Land. It is located in the Larsemann Hills on the southern shore of Wilcock Bay.

The Antarctic Names Committee of Australia named it after Ian C. McCarthy, chief weather observer at Mawson Station in 1970, who was involved in surveys in the Prince Charles Mountains in 1971.
