Other/historical names associated with this locality:
Baycheh-Bagh deposit; Baycheh-Bagh mine; Baiche Bagh Mine; Baychebagh mine
A copper mine, near the town of Mahneshan.
The polymetallic hydrothermal veins of Baycheh-Bagh deposit in north-west Iran occur in quartz-carbonate veins which are hosted by Oligocene to Miocene volcanic (mainly andesite) and volcaniclastic (agglomerate, tuff) rocks unconformably overlying metamorphic basement rocks.
Comparable to typical five element veins but is special regarding its geological setting dominated by volcanic and volcano-sedimentary rocks of Cenozoic age and the presence of gold.
