Ingliston Consols Extended (GML 175N). Ingliston Consols South (GML 544N). The first lease as Ingliston Consols was taken out by P.W. Donovan, J. Murphy, and three others in September 1901. They hold the lease for less than a year. In July 1903, the Robert brothers apply for the Ingliston Consols Extended lease, with a five head mill added in 1909, and other machinery steadily after.
The country is albite porphyry, greenstone, flecked carbonate schist greenish or grey with duller chloritic patches. Fuchsite occurs in places, and increases as you go south. The bulk is carbonate rock of peridotitic origin. Shears and cross veins carry valuable gold, are small, numerous, but do not cross the main system. In the main ore zone the mineralised shear zone strikes north north-east, dips east, with many quartz veins. In the sheared rock there is much arsenopyrite. The quartz is milky white, and like much of the field contains no visible species other than gold. One specimen of pyrite was obtained during a study of the mine in 1916.
The Mindat co-ordinates are approximate.
