Filon Saint Louis, Sainte-Marie-aux-Mines, arrondissement de Colmar-Ribeauvillé, Haut-Rhin, Grand Est, France

This Cu-Pb-Zn-Ag vein is the fourth from background Rauenthal Valley worked since the 16th century on both sides of Neuenberg Mountain.

From the Rauenthal Neuenberg side, the zero level was joined by the Tiefstollen crosscut adit for water drainage and only by underground access with speleological material (Goldene Krone mine shafts). Other mines have exploited the vein are the Sankt Ludwig mine, Eisenthür, Zum Eich, Glückauf and Sankt Michael. The principal part of the Glückauf mine was traced in the Sankt Ludwig vein direction, and a second part in the Sankt Wilhelm vein.
From the Liepvrette Neuenberg side, famous mines worked this vein: Sankt Anthony and Unsere Frau (Grandes haldes).
It was not until the early 18th century that the resumption of works took place, but Sankt Michael was abandoned.

As this locality lies in the Sainte Marie-aux-Mines district, the place is protected by an archaeological mining district status, and all collecting is prohibited.
