The Quicksilver gold prospect is approximately 35 kilometres north-east of Leonora, east of the Leonora-Nambi Road, a few hundred metres north of the Mertondale 3-4 open pit, and immediately south of the Tonto gold prospect.

It is located on the west branch of the Mertondale Shear Zone. It contains black mafic mylonite, quartz, black shale, shale, quartz-dolerite, basalt, basaltitic andesite, and to the east felsic volcanic derived from a rhyolite. Felsic porphyritic intrusives occur irregularly along the shear zone.

Gold is found as a 0.1 to 0.5 g/t anomalism in black sulphide-graphite mafic mylonite. Mineralisation has developed near a sub-vertical mafic-felsic contact, with sulphidic black shale near the mineralisation. Estimated JORC reserves are 0.66 Mt at 1.8 g/t yielding 39 000 ounces of gold.
