Lake Maitland is a calcrete uranium prospect bordering the Lake Maitland salt-pan, 30 kilometres north of the Bronzewing gold mine.
It was discovered by Asarco Australia in 1972. There was limited exploration during the 1980's, with frequent ownership changes. Canadian Mega Uranium took over Redport Ltd who had been exploring the deposit in 2006. Mega Uranium formed a co-operative venture with Toro Energy Pty Ltd, who controls the Lake Way uranium prospects.
The prospect contains 750 tonnes of uranium oxide, capable of producing 1.65 million pounds of uranium oxide per year. No mining has taken place.
