A PGM occurrence located about 2.3 km (7,400 feet) NNW of Frogtown, in the Steelton quadrangle.

PGM minerals are found as micron-sized grains in ferrogabbro phase of the York Haven Diabase. Also found are unnamed Pd3Sb2, (Pd,Pt)(As,Sb) and an uytenbogaardite-like mineral.

NOTE: The andradite image shown above this entry as of 2/22/2012 is from a different, unrelated occurrence.

On 5/14/2012, R. C. Smith, II and J.H. Barnes identified a single, 2x2 micron euhedral grain of sperrylite containing 1.35 % Co, 0.32 Ni, 44.61 As, 0.66 Pd, 1.93 Ir, and 51.12 Pt. It was closely associated with as yet, unidentified (Ni,Fe,Co)4(As,S)3 and (Ni,Fe,Co)3(As,S)2. This sample, as those previously studied, was from 246 to 260 m from the upper contact of the York Haven Diabase on the east side of I-83, Fairview Township, York County, Pennsylvania.
