Granite Quarry
Disused roadside granite quarry formerly operated by the Larkin family, 1.2km west-south-west of Loch Leacrach on the Costelloe to Oughterard road. Occasional fluorite was found here when the quarry was operating but it is now largely barren.
Quarry is at ITM 502546 729382.
Note: Do not confuse this quarry with the one at Shannapheasteen, about 3 1/2 km to the north, along the same road and which has been a prolific producer of fine fluorite specimens, and is also owned by the Larkin family.
