Located 4 kilometres south south-west of the Copper Hills Mine.
Hosted by fractured and reddened medium to coarse grained quartz-feldspar porphyry, with a dark green matrix called the Boobina Porphyry. Fracturing increases to the north-east.
When inspected in the mid 1970's there were two historic shallow shafts, 140 metres apart, and one small pit. Production unrecorded.
The deposit is found in shears, containing limonite-malachite-azurite, dipping 65-75 degrees south-west. Within and between quartz veins is veinlets and disseminated pyrite and chalcopyrite.
A sample from Copper Hills South Mine was submitted for analysis in 1965. It consisted of malachite and hematite with covellite, cuprite, chalcopyrite, quartz and azurite. It assayed 35 per cent copper and 14 oz per ton silver.
