Small, intermittently worked roadside quarry 200m west of Lough Nacalaga at ITM 476158 736894.
Pyrite and possibly other iron sulfides are common in quartz veins and disseminated through metamorphic rocks. This site is interesting as it is very similar to the mineralization found at the Glan mines north of Oughterard albeit fresher and more easily accessed.
There is another disused quarry 300m north across from the pier at ITM 476074 737204.
