Miyazaki, S., Ozimic, S. (1987) Australian Petroleum Accumulations Report 4, Adavale Basin, Queensland. Bureau of Mineral Resources, Geology and Geophysics. Australian Government Publishing Service, Canberra.
The Adavale Basin, in south-central Queensland, is an entirely subsurface sedimentary basin that contains two dry gas accumulations, Gilmore and Log Creek. The accumulations occupy fold-related traps in Middle Devonian clastic rocks of the Log Creek Formation and the Lissoy Sandstone.
The Basin covers an area of approximately 60,000 sq. kilometres. The Basin covers several shires including Bulloo, Quilpie, Murweh, Paroo and the Blackall-Tambo region.
Co-ordinates shown are estimated only at the approximate centre of the basin.
