Köppen climate type:
Located in the Georgina Basin on the Barkly Tablelands, 130 kilometres north-east of the Barkly Homestead Road House. It is 100 kilometres north of the proposed Wonarah phosphate mine. Like Wonarah, the material shows no outcrop, being found at a depth of 10-55 metres below the surface, overlain by non-phosphatic siltstone, chert, and sandstone. Phosphorite is found at intervals, described as a shoestring deposit, up to 30 metres wide, and 24 kilometres long. Generally considered low grade mudstone phosphorite, averaging 10-16% P2O5. No resource figures were available at the time of writing, and poorly explored. Thought to contain several million tonnes.
