Porphyry Cu-Mo-Au-Re prospect.

The porphyry Cu – Mo ± Au prospect in the north – central part of Lesvos Island, in Stypsi area, is hosted by a high – K calc – alkaline microgranodiorite porphyry and the surrounding volcanic rocks. This porphyry was located along NNE-, NW- and NE – trending structures, within trachyandesitic to trachydacitic lavas of the Stypsi caldera. It is characterized by intense propylitic, sericite – carbonate, argillic, and at the upper levels, advanced argillic and silicic alteration.
