Located south of Pine Road, 3.5 miles west of Mt. Holly Springs, 2.5 miles east of Huntsdale. Several pits, some flooded, in the immediate vicinity. Location based on site visit (ca. 1978) and topographic map in "Lapham, Davis M., Geyer, Alan R., Geyer, Alan R., Smith II, Robert C., Barnes, John H. (1976) Mineral Collecting in Pennsylvania. Bulletin G33 (4th ed.). Pennsylvania Geological Survey."
Occurrence is a result of residual accumulation under weathering conditions of pyrolusite and wavellite, near the base of the Cambian Tomstown dolomite and a brecciated contact with the Antietam quartzite.
A phosphate deposit located about 4 miles West of Mount Holly Springs. Workings feature a large pit (100 feet diameter by 25 feet deep) plus smaller trenches.
